EDIT <"New" Topic merged into existing topic>

like in gta 3 and 4 section. does the game feel nostalgic to you? what exactly does feel nostalgic to you?

some things that are nostalgic to me:

-verdant meadows, flying around there with one of the aircrafts of cj

-grove street and los santos’ missions and hanging around those places

-starting the game from beggining with that legendary quote :)

There's something magical and nostalgic about hanging around each of the three cities in San Andreas. Driving around with my homies, killing Ballas in Los Santos around 21:00 with the orange sky, taking pictures of San Fierro landmarks and speeding through the streets and getting into chases with the police with the Wayfarer in San Fierro, acting like a big shot doing casino minigames and cruising through Las Venturas at night... lots of nostalgia and memories with this game.

I'll admit, I was a little hard on this game when I first started posting on the forums again, and I think I'm still a bit harsh on it, but during this replay it's kind of going through a little redemption arc. I do legitimately enjoy this game a lot. Lots of fun.

What felt nostalgic for me was CJ visiting San Fierro for the first time after being forced to leave Los Santos. I just love re-living the experience of moving from one very different city environment to another. Also, cruising the streets of Los Santo's ghettos in a lowrider on a orange-sky sunset evening.

Nothing like a gang warfare with the Ballas "the sworn enemies" of the game responsible for CJ's mother's death, breaking up the GSF with crack dealing and more. I(n terms of missions nothing more nostalgic in Tagging Up the Turf my first encounter with them and they are described as the sworn enemies. By far the most aggressive (attacks unprovoked on sight, unlike Vagos and Aztecas who take a long time to attack) in the series . I faced Krishnas in 2,  Leons in 3, Haitians in VC, Cholos in VCS who are all aggressive but non of them give me the feelings of taking down the closest thing to real enemies the Ballas, the GSF-Ballas rivalry is the most detailed in the series. Been playing SA since 2006 the only GTA game I still play and there is nothing more fun and nostalgic for me than engaging in gang wars with the Ballas XD ! SA style gang war is something I missed in HD age, the TLAD version just doesnt feel as engaging and no gangs make me wanna face them in brutal gun fights ever as much as SA's Ballas !!!!

the robberies with catalina. as much as i dislike her, the parts in the countryside with her had some of the most entertaining and fun missions i’ve ever played(including tenpenny and truth’s missions as well)

No game has ever made me laugh as hard as GTA San Andreas. I still remember playing this game with my friends and hearing Tenpenny's lines throughout the story and bursting with laughter, so it's nostalgic in a way that reminds me of those moments. I think in terms of comedy this was Rockstar's peak.

Yeah for sure,  I remember playing them back in 2016 when I had first played San Andreas for the first time in 10 years, and I had completely forgotten just how much fun those missions were.

Doing the first drive-by mission as a passenger in Drive-Thru was a very memorable experience for me also. I had mad fun replaying the drive by missions after 10 years of not playing SA.

Look what I found roaming the inter webs my folk. Just memories, that we keep in our hearts and minds. Childhoods remembered through a video game. Lol I remember seeing that xplay show in 2004.

On all of these types of "looking back" threads I just can't help but mention the myths these games spawn, and San Andreas arguably has the most famous of these myths: Bigfoot. Among many others, of course, but watching all those myth hunting videos made the memories come flooding back, and back then it was very fun to try and recreate those experiences.

My first drive to Red County, from East Los Santos to the north. Witnessing the countryside, the high speed traffic on the wide highway, the crazy motion blur and the dangling damaged rear bumper for the first time seemed mind blowing to me back then. It is the experience that still sticks with me the most from this masterpiece.

Happy 15th anniversary!

15 anniversary?? Today already? 15 years ago....Holy sh*t. October 26, 2004, first purchased from gamestop for the PS2. It's the only game that I have ever camped outside for. No other. That's how good it was. The only gta that had Eazy-E walking around complaing about CJ's driving, Smokes damn train, Sweets stubborn ass, terrtible traffic AI, NPC killing each other with Shovles, basball bats, golf clubs. Watching a huge train reaction of explosion on the freeways after that one vehicle flips over. The game itself years later would become a huge YT meme.

    Fat CJ....nuff said

Playing on afternoons with a few of my cousins abusing the hell out of that 2-player mode, wasting hours talking about it on Neogaf, hopping on MySpace. Such special times. By far the only game that has captured the realities of 1990's LA so damn well to the point of featuring simialr events leading up to the 92' riots. Also had a kickass cast aswell. It definitely deserved being the best selling PS2 game of the era. Till next time BUSTA CARL.

Not on time, but better late than never - happy 15th anniversary!

As far as the 3D era goes, it's the game which I had the best memories and most nostalgia from. From the street gang wars of Los Santos, to being lost in "the middle of f*cking nowhere!" in Angel Pine, to experiencing a completely different city that is San Fierro (getting to know the new gangs for the first time was priceless), up to the awaited return to Los Santos after passing through the desert and Las Venturas. Truly incredible.

I might've seemed kinda picky on it sometimes, but that doesn't change the fact that it's still my favorite in the 3D era.

Happy 15th anniversary!

When I discovered the game I've been particularly impressed by the size of San Andreas and the variety of atmospheres in its various parts especially in Los Santos my favorite GTA city. In comparison Liberty and Vice City look like golden jails. The first time I discovered Santa Maria beach with the big wheel, the restaurant on the jetty, the workout equipment I found Vice City's beach particularly dull. I've been very pleased the first time I left Los Santos driving a freeway and discovering the countryside and the small villages with the distant lights of Las Venturas and the desert on the other side of the bridge. Even if I discovered GTA SA only 10 years ago it's been a mind-blowing experience.

I have made my exploration of San Andreas even much better and more immersive now that I'm using wildlife mods to place animals in the wilderness. Man, this game is so great !

For me it was mainly the weapons, vehicles and the freedom the game gave the player to mess around with. These three combined pretty much made San Andreas the great sandbox title it was and still is,which also stands as one of the reasons why it's my all-time favourite game.

Catalina's role in the game actually grew on me over time. I find her parts pretty funny now. Say what you will about her character, but the voice actor did a great job. The delivery of her lines is perfect. She really does come across as a crazy ass woman, I don't mess with crazy. 😂

I gamed on a TV like that for at least 3-4 years. Back then, it didn't bother me at all because I wasn't used to anything else. I even played my 360 on it at first. The day when I finally saw what games look like on a HDTV completely blew my mind. I also remember playing GTA V for years on PS3 and then swapping to PS4 and just being mind blown by the graphics.

I still remember gaming on a TV that didn't even have a remote and you had to change channels by pressing the buttons on the side panel. That was back in the days of Ataris and such.

Still nothing is more nostalgic than the old PS2 start up tune and even PS1. I only play 3D era GTAs now on my PS4. I still have a PS2, but haven't played it in years.

As we're talking, I'm literally about to play San Andreas on my PS4 again. I've lost count how many times I've done the beginning at this point. Vice City is downloading, too. Really wish they had IV on PS4, I'd be all over that. They are the only games in my library that don't take a million years to download which is nice.

PS4 is mostly faithful to how they felt on PS2, just with some songs missing and with a way nicer pad to play with. Definitely don't miss the PS1-PS3 era of pads. Sony definitely upped their game there.
