Rider could have taken precautions every meeting he had to either send his decoy in his place, or have his decoy already stationed at the meeting place earlier than arrival time.

 

I know it's far fetched, but every time in the game Riders around he's smoking, but not in that part. Then he dives into the ocean to escape?

as much as i love this theory i highly doubt it. because ryder actually talked in the mission. and it was his voice. so unless his decoy was an excellent actor. than there is no way he had a decoy.

Not sure if I posted here already, but anyway.

It's not that he died too early, more like he died in a way just to throw him out the script. It felt like a rushed death, in my opinion. It was a case of "Oh look it's a character that was on our side, now he's not so take him out, no questions, and forget he even existed from the start".

Yes, without a doubt.

 

However, I don't think it's necessary to keep him alive until the end. It would've been interesting if he had CJ's back along with Cesar, but secretly allies himself with Big Smoke halfway of San Fierro's chapter, then turns on CJ once they confront Big Smoke in the final mission. Kinda similar to Lance's betrayal in Vice City. (and ironically, Ryder's real name is Lance as well)

Maybe he should be allied with CJ until the end,or should develop more as an antagonist.Should died in Las Venturas after he does something and gets more developing.

It would have been great to see Ryder in the rest of the storyline,progressing with Carl to get Sweet out of jail.It's sad Rockstar had to end his character like that.

I think Ryder and CJ had a pretty unique love-hate relationship as far as all the characters in the story go, I would have loved to see their friendship develop more later into the game. Aside from some throwaway lines in the mission following this one about CJ's regret and how Ryder was trying to hit on Kendl or some sh*t, we don't hear from him again unlike Smoke who seems more ever looming and present (you can hear him on the radios and such)

They pretty much did because they were childhood friends.CJ didn't hate him,he just disliked his drug addiction,in-fact they seem to share the most memories with each other.

I'm aware real hate probably didn't enter into their friendship but out of all the guys (except maybe Sweet) CJ argued the most with Ryder. It was always Ryder who busted his chops. Nonetheless they did share the most memories with each other like their school memories

If you ask me, CJ's relationship with Ryder was the most complex out of all the relationships CJ had with everyone else, and I too wish they could've developed it more in the story.

True,but we all have that friend that argued with us in a joking manner eh?Look at the example in 'Reuniting the Families',where Ryder says "Man,I was just joking with the little nigga."
