[...]I don't think any of the SA people are in the V game.

Nobody said anything about V.

I did. The only reason for Ryder to survive would be to be in the V Game.

(@ Weasel)

I look at it this way i chase him to the boat, shoot him down, killing him, then i get off the boat and dive under water to get my LUNG CAPACITY up

Nothing wrong with that, except I think most Players build up the LC by doing the Oysters collection. That accomplishes the same feat killing two birds with one stone.

The Likehood of Ryder being in V, would probably be slim, even if he didn't die; like people say...The 3rd GEN. is over (sadly) I would think he would be mentioned in V, not have a playable role. Then again who knows you could be right.

He shouldn't have died that early. CJ showed no emotion against Ryder, even though he was his childhood friend alongwith Smoke.

Yea true. He was too Big Smoke like: ,,What happened to you man?,, ,,We were like brothers man why you didnt quit with drugs and sh*t,,

And to Ryder: ,,Yea f*ckin bitch i got you now, die,,

But I was sad when i killed Ryder.

Because i heard in the beta version off Beat down on B Dup you need to drive Big bear yourself and not sweet.

I saw a beta pic you can see CJ driving and Sweet,Big Bear and Ryder as passengers..

Sorry if im wrong

In my opinion: Ryder should have stayed alive

I think Ryder should have died later in the story. I think it wasn't as well though out as it should have been, I would have liked to dealt with him in bone county, or first arrival back In LS instead of the pier.

I don't like the way GTA SA gave Ryder an anti climatic death. The whole boat chase was excessive. Would have rather had him die later to make his death more dramatic.

I used to like Ryder, he was funny and his missions too.

Too bad he betrayed CJ.

But he deserved to die, since he is traitor.

I hate that Ryder was considered a much more minor character than Smoke.

Let me be clear with you, it wasn't Ryder that was the traitor, it was Big-Smoke; Ryder is just a follower.

The next time you play SA again, listen & watch the storyline carefully please.

Ryder is following the betrayal, therefore he is a traitor.

Ryder was a traitor just as much as smoke. You don't have to be the brains to be a traitor. I do think Ryder went out in a good way. He was a gangster till the end, instead of screaming or crying his final words were a big f-you to his killer. Sure, they both sold out on Sweet's principles, but while Smoke tried to be a celebrity, Ryder knew he was just another thug from LS. I thought that was pretty cool.

Ryder dies in Pier 69, which IMO is the most memorable mission of the III era. I think Ryder was written off at this point specifically for emotional effect. Killing Mendez might seem mundane in itself. But with Ryder there to it makes for a big scene.

@MyDog Yeah, a lot of times CJ will just talk and talk about Smoke and cluelessly leave out Ryder. The writer's didn't plan to have Ryder betray GSF at first so I think it's just leftover dialogue. But it's still kind of weird. What the game really needed was a bigger view of what the Smoke/Ryder operation was. We see the connect (Loco Syndicate), the protect (C.R.A.S.H), but the inner workings and rise to power? Would have been interesting.

Honestly I just want to know what kind of deal Smoke and CRASH made with the Russians and the Vagos. They intimidated them a lot, but like what was said? I always pictured them either killing off the leaders and replacing them with CRASH puppet leaders (king of like Smoke was supposed to be), or basically enslaving them. The Vagos leaders weren't that happy with the arrangement seeing as how they gave up his location to Sweet and Carl.

SPOILER ALERT

Ryder did not die the same way Tenpenny did, he died from a boat explosion.

I hope your being sarcastic.

what is your thoughts about Ryders death? Do you think it actually didn't kill him? Many believe that he jumped out of the boat before it blew up. what do you think? Just remember in the GTA world things like this could happen.

Pretty sure he blew up in that boat. I never heard nobody saying he jumped out or anything. But like you said the gta world is pretty crazy. I personally wish R* gave him a much bigger role than to betray you right away once you moved to the hilly area of the map.

You can snipe him from the pier before he even reaches the boat.

You can't really make theories for stuff like this as there is more than one way to complete most missions.

That's true but there still may be theories about what could've happened no matter how you killed him....maybe he was just playing dead until CJ left

Ryder should have been an ally of CJ's rather than an antagonist. Although the two of them never seemed to get along, they were close, and they seemed to make a good team together. I enjoyed those three or so missions that I had with Ryder and I was quite shocked when I found out about his betrayal. He didn't seem like someone who'd turn on the GSF...

Carl Johnson: I ain't leavin' my brother, I ain't no busta!

Ryder: Man, it's every motherf*cka for himself! (Big Smoke drives away from the scene with Ryder)

(Carl finds Sweet at the Jefferson Motel.)

Pussy Ryder didn't help CJ when he should ..like a team, isn't it???

Ryder is just so overrated. His soul is sh*t, he doesn't care ( as seen abv ) for anyone and would backstab CJ easily, just got nothing to depend upon to make him as good as Cesar to work as a team, and as a bond of loyal friendship without any fear.

Cesar is 100x better than Ryder! #FACT!

If Ryder really meant CJ as his childhood friend then why didn't he help CJ to rescue Sweet? :p

Reuniting the Families is the mission meant to hint about the true faces of both Ryder and Smoke, and eventually unlocks Green Sabre to prove these backstabbing pricks aren't worthy for anything. Ryder sold out his childhood friend. This is the second Mission where Ryder again proved to be the true busta!

Well when you think about it, it almost seems as if R* just originally made him a side character and eventually made him a main character instead. That's probably why Ryder's betrayal was perfunctory in contrast to Smoke's betrayal. I agree with you. Big Smoke should've been the only traitors of the game and Ryder should've been more loyal to CJ. The closest friend betrays him and the not-so-close friend stays on his side and they work together along with Cesar. That would've made the storyline more ironic and unique.

In Los Santos your biggest enemy is Kane and the Ballas, in the southern countryside it's (kind of) Catalina but more Tenpenny's iron grip and the trouble it gets you into, then in SF you go after all of Crash, but that's not great in itself because they were all just introduced hardly five missions before, so Ryder goes down to cement that in your head, that your friends are gone now and that there's real change and meaning in it for Carl.

(The other areas have similar "bosses": Toreno, Salvatore, and Smoke.)

I think he was killed at a good time in the story, he didn't really mean enough to CJ for it to deserve any more dramatics than it got. You can tell Ryder was only a friend because he happened to grow up with the gang.

Don't see why people believe he died the perfect time. Even his death scene didn't have any real motivation. When he was killed off, it felt as if you were killing some random target for a typical mission. Also, no one seemed to mention him after he was offed and Sweet doesn't even at least ask about him since CJ never mentioned his betrayal to him and only told him about Smoke. He was CJ's friend since childhood, yet he was still treated more like a minor enemy. Hell Kane, who only appeared in one mission, had a more dramatic death scene. It's unfair how Smoke gets all the attention yet Ryder is completely ignored until his impending demise. If R* wasn't going to even use his character after his betrayal, they might as well should just eliminate him completely from this game and have CJ, Sweet, and Big Smoke all appear.

I agree. R* should've token Ryder out of this game completely because he ruined the beginning of the storyline for all of us.

I'm not a huge fan of Ryder myself, but you better ease up calling people retards for having a different opinion.
