I'm actually confused now, what's this the third time? Was it the same people each time?

From what I can gather, its a different group who were responsible for that PBS hack the other day. I don't think they have figured out who did the original attack yet

Wait, again? Jesus, now is about the time I'm glad I never purchased a PS3.

Sony seriously needs to fix this nonsense.

It's not PSN that has been hacked, but Sony Pictures. Different branch of Sony.

Why are all of the hackers attacking Sony all of a sudden? Are they still butthurt at them for suing Hotz for hacking the PS3?

Still, its a part of Sony and they need to learn to protect their customers data, did not see the first line, thanks for pointing it out.

Apparently thats not affected, its the movie thing, I don't have a PS3 anymore so I don't know what that is

So, does this affect the current situation of PSN, or not?

Either way, this shows that Sony is definetly incapable of controlling their networks, and this attack came at a crucial time (definetly not a coincidence) and it's gonna slow down the PSN recovery process, if not have it shut down, again.

Only thing we can wish for is that Sony gets their systems back up and runnin' again and that these attacks will stop. I'm a proud owner of both the 360 and the PS3, and I play the 360 way more commonly, so it's not such a set back but more like a disappointment, but I'm proud of the way they're gonna refund it.

This attack comes from the hacker group known as Lulz Security aka LulzSec.

Unlike Anonymous, they don't have much of a motive other than to hack and steal "for the lulz".

It still is, Steam, Games for Windows Live and the Wii, are still free services. Only Xbox Live forces you to pay to play online.

And once again it ain't PSN that has been attacked, the attack has the movie division of Sony.
