Yep. This has happened four times. I have reinstalled the game four times, and it never fails.

So, I got GTA IV on PC a year ago. I got a new computer and new HDD in March(?). I couldn't find the disc so I got a cracked version. At first I thought it might be the crack, but I have read about other people who bought the game having this problem too. Before I read that, I though it might be Xliveless. So I got a cracked patch (1.0.2.0) and it didn't happen again...until this morning. I didn't use Xliveless and I got the First Person mod. Then I got a Joker Ped mod. I got the ASI Simple Trainer. I then made a Video Editor video. I attempted to put the Back to the Future DeLorean. I loaded the game and...it happened.

I thought it might be the car, so I put back the original. It still wouldn't load.

I looked at these threads and nothing fixed it:

"I'm stumped. Ideas?"

P.S.- Turning off Vsync DOESN'T FIX IT! DON'T TELL ME TO DO THAT!

EDIT: Temporary fix- Restart my computer, then it doesn't do it.

Discussion of any cracks is forbidden.

You are the one starting discussion of them. I was trying to get my game to stop crashing. It is not the crack, so I didn't want to talk about it.
