i play without the launcher and it works fine, no black screen.

What exactly do you mean? Black screen or the not black edges?

 

The edges are a side effect of antialias, which the latest build automatically sets if it's started with a launcher.

Black screen after i start the game. I can do everything, but i can't see anything because of that black screen. I don't use a launcher, i don't even know where i can get it. smile.gif

Did you enable any settings via globalm.xml?

Yes, all of them enabled. It worked fine with build before.

Can you test disabling windowed mode or the "fixframewait" and see if it still happens then?

Same thing, without fixframewait or without globalm.xml at all. But, like i said, i used one of previous builds before, with all globalm.xml setting enabled and it worked fine. I suggested you to make a hook in another dll back then.

Is anyone willing to give this a test, I am not on my Vice City PC so I cant see how it works, I know that people dont know all the field numbers like for vehicle sounds and that but I am planning on adding the actual sounds so you can hear each sample then pick the one you want, and other cool things to help you build an XML from scratch.

 

(It is still a WIP)

 

Edit: Updated it so you can turn "Gang ID" & "Max Passengers" on if you wish to.

Edit: Updated it so you can turn "Carcols" on and off, also made a popup windows with all of Vice City's CarCols.

Edit: Added a Popup Window with all the Vehicle Engine sounds so you can listen to them, and it also has the data to enter for each one.

Edit: Added a Popup Window with the Vice City wheels and there ID Numbers to pick from.

About the shadows... I've noticed that in cutscenes, VC has real time character shadows, which would be a really cool thing to get. Is there any way to enable that while playing?

but when i close the game and open it again i have no problem with the new car and it's load the car.

Those shadows have some issues, but maybe I can make them work properly for vehicles. Here's the first attempt:

I hardly see any other video formats than MKV these days. Even my not very new TV plays this format natively. Where have you been living? tounge.gif

 

Use something like VLC or any other proper media player (hint: WMP is not one of them). wink.gif

Can't tell for sure at the moment, when the next test version causes the same thing, maybe I could let you test it with some features disabled.

This shadow system is really only suitable for planes/helis. I'll show you why:

As you can see, all shadows are created as if the vehicle and the surface weren't close to each other.

 

And yeah, that shadow detail is when the shadow texture is 4096x4096, which only works properly on high-end systems.

Movement is not what causes this, it happens because some parts that are close to the ground are not close to the center of the vehicle. On buildings this would also look awful, but I guess it would look okay on peds since only a very small part in the center of the model touches the ground for peds.

Changed the coordinates x, y, z but in the game no changes, may need to add something?

That Player shadow reminds me of playing Driver 2. Still awesome, will it be able to render weapons and other things that you are holding?

"menuonrestore" means whether it jumps to menu when you restore the window. "rtshadowonplanes" makes planes and helis have real time shadows, "rtshadowonplayer" makes the player have one. "antialias" can either be "on", "off" or "max" ("on" uses max/2 antialias level).

Updated the file. Fixed some effects not showing up on the extra view and crash when you start a new game, die or get busted while extra view is open.
