l008com
My Windows 7 is crapping out so I'm going to reinstall, and then reinstall my games. It's a MacBook Pro, and I only use the Windows partition for GTA so I just need to save my game files. So my question is this: Win7-32 or Win7-64? I do have 4 GB of RAM. I don't have over 4 GB of RAM. I mainly play VC and SA. I probably won't try to mess with IV again... but I might. Which OS should I use? And why? creat3d22
You won't see any benefit in GTA IV running a 64-bit OS... regardless of the claims to the contrary on the game's package.
leik oh em jeez!
The game itself is 32-bit, so it really doesn't matter. 64-bit OS's seem a little more reponsive to me, but that may just be in my head.

Nothing wrong with 64-bit especially with a rig like yours, but sadly GTA is indeed 32-bit. Which makes you wonder why the hell they would claim otherwise... oh right, optimised! l008com
I mostly play Vice City and San Andreas. Those games are much older. Are they going to have any compatibility issues with 64 bit Win7?

Just run them in XP compatibility mode. If you've got a copy of 32-bit, then you might as well keep it until you replace/upgrade your system, but if your out buying a version, then there's no reason to choose 32-bit over 64-bit. It's not as if 64-bit is any more expensive, and the compatibility issues that plagued XP64 have gone completely now. GTA3Freak-2001
If you did have compatibility issues it will be Win 7's fault rather then if its 32bit or 64.
