gamesguru
Bon Iver - Bon Iver, Bon Iver • Release - June 20th [uK], June 21st [uS] • Genre - Indie Rock • Recorded - 2008 to 2010 • Tracks - 10 • Label - 4AD [uK], Jagjaguwar [uS] Track No. Title Length 01 Perth 4:22 02 Minnesota, WI 3:52 03 Holocene 5:37 04 Towers 3:08 05 Michicant 3:42 06 Hinnom, TX 2:45 07 Wash. 4:59 08 Calgary 4:10 09 Lisbon, OH 1:33 10 Beth/Rest 5:17 ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ I recently had the pleasure of listening to the group's work. I had previously only known them through their affiliation and collaborations with Kanye West (and the back story of the writing process of their debut). This, their sophomore album, has been accumulating a lot of attention recently. Seeing as I had heard the name I began to grow an interest. The album was 'available' during a day that was filled with a strew of leaks. Being unfamiliar with their work, and also hearing all the praise from those that had heard the new album, I just had to listen to it (hey, gotta spend wisely). I planned on listening to it on my morning commute to college on Thursday, but my mp3 player had issues connecting to my computer. So instead I listened to it once I had gotten home. After a tiresome day, this album was just what the doctored order. Its amazing, very mellow and very deep musically. The tracks gel so well with one another. It sounds like one complete piece as opposed to a selection of tracks. I've heard from some that it isn't as good as their debut (For Emma, Forever Ago), despite still being very good. I plan on not only buying this album upon release, but also to listen to some of their past work. If this album is anything to go by, I'm sure I will be in for a treat. So, are any of you guys familiar with their work? Anybody else listened to the album (I encourage you to wait until release if you are already a fan/familiar with their work)? Are you excited for this new album? It would be nice to see some opinions on the band and their work. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Here is a track from the new album for reference:
Cheat
Only heard them on 'Ye's Monster and Lost In The World, but matter of fact, I didn't even know that Bon Iver is a group. Always thought there's a guy actually called Bon Iver, lol. Anyways, they sound and seem really professional, talented, and most of all, original. Really smooth and mellow sounds that vibe together as a heavenly harmony, man. Just the type of talent, that I'm not surprised at all that Kanye decided to collaborate with them. These guys really have the potential to, like, pioneer a new sub-genre or something, they're truly talented. Nice post again games'

Edmachine
I loved their/his (the first album was recorded by Justin Vernon alone, as far as I know) first album, so I am looking very much forward to the new album. If you can't wait at all for it, it has been leaked. Just FYI...
