If not reinstall then dual boot it with other OS, keep the new OS for games and games only.. You can do that right? It'll take you 15 minutes or so.... All you gotta do is insert the windows 7 dvd and run the setup.. Its simple, like installing a game... You can dual boot xp in the same way but it'll take a lot of time and you have to install sp3 update, framework and loads of crap so windows 7 'd be easier to dual boot.. And you said that you're more into this hardware thing,,, then please help me out with my GPU. I have a thread for it in this troubleshoot section.. No one plays deathmatch anymore, everyone is playing freemode and f*cking around basically. Whenever i try to build something with my trainer, someone f*cks it up. Then patch installed, the hard way but it is. What i found very interesting was this: When i opened the titleupdate.exe with Notepad++, it said something about visual c redist n stuff.. Maybe you could try something with that (I reinstalled visual c++ like 15 times but ok). But ofcourse the easiest solution is to reinstall your OS. Good luck. What you may be missing is the GFWL update or the vc++ libraries, which need to be installed from the game disk so that Securom can function properly. And when I try to start this from the LaunchGTAIV.exe it gives me "Send error report". Maybe the update rar is missing something cuz it works with 1.0.4.0 Hope you have another idea...
