I feel like this show is going downhill, but as many others I love the hound scenes, specially the whole dialog around the guy in yellow cloak, "can I at least chop of one hand?"

And I like that Arya is done with that chapter. Hopefully there will be some awesome stuff around her in the future. I however hated how the waif was all terminator like coming out of the door of that actor and in the chase afterwards. Its not like it seems like the normal MO of the faceless assassins to give open chase in the street anyway. But she is dead now.

To be fair, that possibility died beyond a shadow of doubt in episode 7.

To be fair, that possibility died beyond a shadow of doubt in episode 7.

Episode 7 was a whole episode basically teasing Clegane bowl, right from the pre-intro start of The Hound returning to the end... It's only died now because of the new trial by combat rules, I don't even see the point of The Hound being in the show from this point on.

They killed all Arya theories, all Lady Stoneheart theories and biggest of all, Clegane bowl which people have been hyped for since S1. A big kick in the face from the show writers, and not the good kind we usually get.

Septon Ray's hanging is what ruled it out. There's absolutely no reason or motivation for the Hound to go to King's Landing after that.

And it would have been sh*t(ter) writing to send him off in that direction.

The motivation was him telling him to go back to being a fighter. To fight for the faith against the crown which he hates. The motivation of being able to fight his brother after he burned his face off. Again; the motivation has been there since S1.

Do the show producers think we want to see Grey Worm and Missandei or something? Natalie Emmanuel is a fine actress and everything, but there's no salvaging Missandei as a character. It's a shame she couldn't have a more important role as they both just seem like token minority characters at this point.

"Oh, go back to being a fighter Sandor Clegane" "You're right, in fact, I'm going to ride to the capital at once to fight my brother, who for all I know might be dead, in a trial of combat I know nothing about."

Not only does he not have motivation to move in that direction (and indeed, wants to stay the f*ck away from the place, for several reasons), he doesn't even know about any of it. It's narrative absurdity.

The way to Sandor's redemption was never through petty revenge, both in the books and show.

@Frikken this one's for you ;)

I didn't make it. I thought about making one with the Waif's head photoshopped onto Robert Patrick's body though :p

She totally did have that terminator look, didn't she?

And as much as I didn't want Arya to be Jac, or Jac to be the Waif or the Waif to be Arya, i kind of did, because now we are left with the reality that Arya was a f*cking total idiot. So out of character... the Arya who was scared of every stranger this episode was the one I wanted last week.

Still, loved seeing Beric and Thoros again. I missed those fellas.

Seeing as how she hid Needle some place where it was dark and she had a candle there. You can see how she planned it all. She wanted it the waif to come after her. She knew she couldnt beat her in combat so she decided to change things to her advantage. But it was a risky plan nonetheless.

Yeah, maybe the final run, and maybe more as a last ditch option, but I doubt she planned getting nearly gutted in the streets.

She didnt plan that but it was a part of her plan. If she faced the waif in the streets she would have lost. She decided to face her in the dark to get an advantage.

Maybe the writers should have skipped that scene where she was stabbed and mellowed it down a little. Or at least made Arya more aware that there were assassins on her trail. Would have made much more sense.

Hate to say this but ever since the show diverted from the books its been going downhill.

Right there, that's my point. That part made no sense and was out of character.

I think the show does suffer from not having to book to ... uh ... deviate from, but I'm still enjoying this take on the series. Kinda bummed about all the major reveals that I don't get to experience through the lense of GRMM's writing, but I knew this was the deal when I got started.

I love this show but there is a part of me that leaves me just wanting more to chew on, there's just so much being left out to imagination at this point, you can feel it's being pushed to finish and we're hardly getting any time with the characters we grew to love in years gone by, and generally when looking at the bigger picture you're left thinking "what was the point of all of X if only X is going to happen?" Maybe it's because there's no book dialogue to take from but..I don't know. I'm just wondering how the hell they plan to end it, considering there's only 2 episodes left already and possibly even shorter seasons coming next year. At least we have the books to fill it all out to it's proper completion, but it would have been a bonus to see it on screen.

Some nice scenes to outshine the fillery ones though. I liked Braavos and Riverun. Loved the interaction between The Hound and BwB. Surprised to see Dondarrion, that puts an end to the LSH hopes! I was hoping Arya might have some wolfie dreams under the influence of milk of the poppy, but I guess that might be cut too and I'm just wishful thinking lol. Cersei gonna burn the Red Keep, anyone?

Looking at the preview for next week's episode..it's not looking good, a lot of names we know are gonna die by the looks of it, but who is going to intervene and who is going to win? I wonder will Bran appear and let the white walkers through the wall...

The Sept of Baelor at the very least, but I'm still comfortable sticking to the entirety of King's Landing. Going for bonus points below here too:

Jamie is the one to kill her, after she effectively becomes the Mad Queen.

One of my favourite scenes from the show and has relevance to s6e8

Aryas whole story arc in essos was a waste of time and we learned nothing about these faceless man, i feel like the writer don't know what to do with some characters thus leading to stupid situations

Also whats up with her healing so fast ?

Anyone else kinda annoyed at how short they make these seasons? I get that it takes a long time to get the necessary funding, equipment, crew and even travel to the right places. It's just annoying that they rush out the episodes and there is just so few of them. I love the show, and the books, kinda hard to keep interested when you barely three months of episodes, then nothing, till next year.

I do have a question. Is it possible to buy the clothing the wildlings wear? I love the colour pattern and the way it looks.

You wont like the next 2 seasons then :)

The problem they have with this show is mostly the amount of actors and the scale of the whole thing. Every season the actors will want more money, every season they go to new places, the dragons and battles get bigger. CGI is very expensive.

Time is hyperbolic in this show. One episode of the show to us, could be days or weeks in the continuity of the story. For example, the first couple seasons are all supposed to take place over a year's time each.

So we can't be sure how long Arya was healing up. Minutes to us, could've been weeks for her.

@Faceless men: Well we learned in this season that they were responsible for the Doom of Valyria and that they founded Braavos. Pretty major revelations but easy to miss.

I think time is broken on the show... it's not a priority to D & D, not a huge problem for me, but time is just not a factor in storytelling unless it's used as a particular device, like Edmure saying he's been in that cell for "years" so we know LS isn't going to happen.

that is one thing i dont like about this show. they don't know how to tell time.. i always assume every episode is a couple weeks after the last unless its some type of continuation.

Thats one thing i dont get cause the red wedding was end of season 3 and Edmure says "years" to me thats implying more than 2. Arya left for Braavos end of Season 4. The hound had to be found at the end of season 4 as well. but the conversatrions between Septon Ray and The Hound make it sounds like they just recently found him.

Just go with it. You'll break something if you try to track it all, ESPECIALLY WITH A GODDAMNED BABY TO HELP TRACK TIME. Little "Sam" makes everything so hard to understand. He's obviously not even 1 yet...
