i feel like its too soon for that, since they want to go 9 seasons.

It's only going to 8 seasons, and season 7 and 8 are going to be half as long. After this season there are only ~10 episodes left.

13 episodes.

Seems like this season's finale is 69 minutes instead of the usual 60 finales have been in the past. That's something I suppose...?

Is anyone else really annoyed by the character of Ramsay? Like it's not just the over the top violence, it's the sheer improbability of things working out for him. His the plot armour is thicker than John Snow's. So first Yara tries to save Theon and a gang of Viking berserkers surround and outnumber him, but let him casually stroll over to the hound cages and release a pack of dogs (which shouldn't have been a problem for 50 armoured men). Then Stannis is about to overrun Winterfell easily, but is stopped by Ramsay sneaking into his base and burning down the tents? Roose threatens to disinherit him like ten times but never does: the cold and calculating chessmaster apparently had no idea Ramsay might kill him despite doing nothing but talk about his lack of self control and threatening to boot him out of the family. Why would the Karstarks prefer Ramsay over Roose, surely they'd rather deal with Roose? And how did he know Osha was reaching for the knife? It's like he just randomly decided to stab her and luckily it was right before she was going to kill him. Then the Freys just have no opinion on him killing their daughter and sh*tting all over their alliance.

I think the writers have seriously overestimated peoples' enthusiasm for him. They've basically ditched entire arcs to make more room for Ramsay. Sansa was consolidating her power in the Vale, subordinating the local lords, learning to play Littlefinger, building up to her becoming one of the most powerful people in Westeros... then they decide to remove her from politics entirely and have her get bashed and raped by Ramsay for an entire season. Walda (apparently the funniest character in the books) gets all of four short lines in the whole show, and Roose a much more interesting and nuanced character, who y'know, actually rules the North does sweet f*ck all besides chastise Ramsay.

Like the only reason the dude is at all a threatening villain is because of the bad writing that lets him get away with everything.

Ramsay survived thus far because he is ruthless and doesnt give a sh*t about anyone but himself. I dont see him as having a "plot armor".

I thought the scene with Osha was pretty badass. He's always one step ahead and cunning like his father.

There's nothing Ramsay and his 20 good men can't accomplish - even worse for his enemies if he also takes his shirt off. He's got more plot armour in the show than Arya does in the books, lol.

Walda's not amazingly funny in the books, but she is a nice character (as she is in the show). The show's nihilistic tendencies really come to the fore when the few nice characters are killed in horrifying ways.

Ramsay's plot armour is indeed ridiculous. I get the feeling it's there to make his eventual demise all the more satisfying, but it just kills the immersion for me. Seeing him take on Asha/Yara and her raiders with his shirt off was beyond ridiculous. The rape of Sansa wasn't in the books and was awful. Obviously having her be raped was bad enough, but it was completely needless from the narrative's point of view. It's good that Sansa seems to have gotten over it, but that just undermines how evil and traumatising rape is. Did we really need more evidence that Ramsay is Ted Bundy level evil?

Roose is meant to fall madly in love with Walda, at least. Both are just wallpaper for Ramsay in the show.

This is comedy gold in the book actually. He insists that he just wanted her for her weight in gold in silver, but it's obvious he's quite taken with her and treats her sweetly.

Roose is obviously evil, but he's a far more interesting character than Ramsey. Ramsey comes off as an Elliot Rodgers/Columbine type who's sadly been given free reign to do what he wants.

Roose has particular tastes.

Shame we won't be seeing Hugo "Big Bucket" Wull or the other mountain clansmen George hurriedly wrote in in ADWD.

I want to live forever in a land where summer lasts a thousand years. I want a castle in the clouds where I can look down over the world. I want to be six-and-twenty again. When I was six-and-twenty I could fight all day and f*ck all night. What men want does not matter. Winter is almost upon us, boy. And winter is death. I would sooner my men die fighting for the Ned's little girl than alone and hungry in the snow, weeping tears that freeze upon their cheeks. No one sings songs of men who die like that. As for me, I am old. This will be my last winter. Let me bathe in Bolton blood before I die. I want to feel it spatter across my face when my axe bites deep into a Bolton skull. I want to lick it off my lips and die with the taste of it on my tongue.

I do hope Fat Walda survives till the end in the books; she's so innocent and naive and it contrasts with Roose well. She has the unfortunate misfortune of being born a Frey though...

This article is clickbait trash, and convoluted and confusing. Also, it has interesting implications....

Right idea, wrong conclusion IMO. read at own peril

Maise Williams is alleged to have filmed some Riverlands stuff for this season from reliable sources.

Not LSH so much as Arya checking someone off her list, though, I imagine.

I'm surprised they didn't tease that particular reveal out but bam, right out of the gates. There was another though that wasn't super obvious....

LEM MOTHERf*ckING LEMONCLOAK BITCHES!!!!!

Honestly though, it wouldn't be a post of mine without a little bit of criticism.... what an utter f*cking waste of Ian McShane and the character of Septon Meribald. I knew they were gonna f*ck it up and still had hope that they wouldn't. Lesson learned I guess?

Lyanna Mormont was a badass. And apparently Jon, Sansa and Davos got ahold of Littlefinger's teleporter.

A cold opening was weird. Have they ever done one in this show?

YESSS! The Hound is f*cking back and badass! Cleganebowl, check.

I feel sorry for Arya, RIP a girl has a name.

Oh and the Septon thing, bla bla bla and dead. Typical GoT...

I expect to see Daenerys going to Westeros with Iron Fleet in Episode 8 or 9.

Something's big about to go down in King's Landing in Episode 10 I gues..

I am not a fan of this episode.

A waste of one of the best actors alive and a waste of a good character.

It's like they're not even trying anymore. This isn't a f*ck up. It's not like it happened by accident. These people really thought that they didn't have to do anything more with him. It seems like every new character they introduce in the show is actually irrelevant to the story and only the old well established characters still count. I thought that GoT was supposed to be different.

So Asha is a lesbian? That's fine and everything, but she's not in the books. They really have diluted her character, and it's obvious they just wanted to add another gay character for no reason. Again there's no issue with it, but it goes against the grain of her character.

Arya was putting on an act. She was missing Needle, wanted the citizens of Bravos to know and talk about a girl that is wanting to travel back home so that the Waif can find her easy. She possibly got stabbed on purpose, so the blood trail will lead the Waif into a dark alley where she has hidden Needle and will fight.

It's just her last test imo. Wayyy too stupid of her to be gallivanting around Bravos like that accidentally :)

Part of that scene was in the season 6 trailers, so not really a surprise to be fair. It is yet another bizarre change in a long list there of, where the show writers/D&D feel as if they can make a point better than the source material did and it was just....... meh. It's not as if they even needed to introduce Qarl or Tris Botley etc.

Just saw the episode 8 preview, oh boy...

Well she could have just carried Needle with her and saved herself the trouble. Because right now they think she is dead since she did not get out of the water. And it seems like a stupid move on Arya's part to risk getting stabbed like that just so she can surprise them at the end. Plus she is in no shape to fight like that..

And the scene is bullsh*t anyways. All that stabbing and she still manages to swim and walk the streets. Kinda hard to just watch that and go " Yeah sure, I can see that happening!"

Last scene of this episode was badass. And Bronn can make an episode f*cking great with just a few one liners from him. I think this is one of the best episodes in this season. There was more intensity this time. Maybe because the season is coming close to an end. Or maybe because it didnt include Dany.

Episode 8 looks even more better.

I thought his was one of the worst this season. All the gratuitous sex and suspension of disbelief which marred previous seasons returned. Lyanna Mormont would jot actually be running Bear Island. Even if she is the heir he duties would fall to a castelan or Maester (remember when Bran was the Stark in Winterfell and he was just there as a formality?). The actress did a great job but actually watching Jon haplessly parley with her was ridiculous.

It's comparable to Sweet Robin, not Bran, since she's the Lady of Bear Island; the other Mormont women don't exist in the show it seems.

She told Stannis in the books too that House Mormont wouldn't bend the knee to anyone but a Stark and as far as I can tell, Jon and Sansa have taken on Stannis' book plot.

Lem was my favorite bit. So I believe now we will see LS, no reason to keep mentioning the Brotherhood in EVERY SINGLE EPISODE.

Yay Lem! Maybe he'll capture Arya like he did previously in the books?

THE f*ckING HOUND! I KNEW IT!!

knew the Hound was alive.

his reappearance was always only a matter of time. the moment they showed those guys carrying logs (from behind), and suddenly you noticed how just ONE guy was doing the work of 3-4, I KNEW it was the Hound.

great moment.

otherwise, I was a little disappointed with this episode. not a lot in the way of revelation or action. huge waste of Ian McShane. probably the worst casting decision in the history of the show... the man can act circles around most other 'actors' and his cameo is already spent.

ugh.

And apparently Jon, Sansa and Davos got ahold of Littlefinger's teleporter.

so you want to spend valuable screen time watching them physically travel from place to place?

I feel sorry for Arya, RIP

are you daft?

did you even watch the whole episode?

So Asha is a lesbian?

correct me if I'm wrong; but everyone in this show appears to at least be bisexual...
