Unless they've drastically changed the Unsullied in the show, Grey Worm is a eunuch. As for Tyrion and Daenerys, I really doubt it. I can't picture a scenario where that doesn't come off as bad writing.

 

I've been really enjoying Vikings lately. After three seasons of it I definitely prefer it to GoT. I'll always be very fond of ASoIaF, but I've lost interest in the TV series. A lot of characters and plot lines that I like from the book have been scrapped, sex in every episode comes off as incredibly forced and cheesy (I will admit that some of the birds are astonishingly fit though) and undermines the tone of the show and I generally disagree with the directions the show has taken.

 

Some of the dialogue is a bit naff at times, too, and given that the books are a source of some truly inspired dialogue and banter there really is no excuse for this.

 

 

The first two seasons were great though, and I respect the show's creators for all the effort that goes into the series. At this point it would probably be better for Martin just to focus on D&E and his "historical" books as it's pretty clear that the show will give away the ending, even though it will probably be quite different to the one Martin has had planned. I enjoyed TPatQ and I love D&E so I wouldn't mind.

I think you're reading a little too much into it.

 

People know of her, sure, now after King's Landing, but that doesn't mean too much. She's the pretty girl with the auburn hair, that's what most people would know (sans obvious plot stuff). There's a reason why they dye her hair in the manner that they do.

 

Most about everything who's actually likely to be familiar enough with Sansa to recognise her grown up (some) and with different coloured hair is dead. If Theon's present, he will.

if they have sansa marry ramsay instead of the arya pretender.. i'm a bit rusty, but wouldn't that make ramsay the legit ruler of winterfell? whereas in the book he marries an imposter and only thinks he's legit, this would change the position a bit.. perhaps it becomes irrelevant as the story progresses and certain people may soon die and the end result will be the same.. i dunno

That's a good point... I might be reading too much into some things as Coin has pointed out, but this has to be true as well. It would ruin the whole "deception."

That's how I thought initially, but now that the show seems to let me down with the changes, I'd rather see it first (because it is good) and read afterword, thinking "Ohh, look at all the cool new stuff the book has added" rather than "Lame... why did they take that out of the show??"

I just started reading the books. its really good. though i prefer some scenes from the tv show rather than the books. like blackwater war, and the mob attack scene. Tyrion's speech in the tv show was amazing.

I personally prefer the books to the show, don't get me wrong, I like the show as it can offer a deeper view that the books skimmed over.

 

To me. The biggest turn off with the show is the terrible sword fighting. It's so fake and disgustingly forced, they broadcast every swing of their sword. Nothing flows.

 

Yes. I know it's a tv show and they are actors, come on, they are using blunt swords and they act like they are scared to hit each other.

I'm looking forward to seeing the show then reading the next books, i think it'll heighten my experience of both. This way I can love the show, not fault it for changes, then read the WoW book and love all of the "added material". I think this will be a nice turn of events for me.

I think Season 5 is loosely based on both the remaining material from ADWD and AFFC.

 

We will all get to start figuring it out in only 2 DAYS!!!!

I finished the first 3 books. and now gonna watch the show then read the rest after its done.

 

 

its a shame characters like Arianne Martell weren't cast. the most character im excited about in the show right now is Doran. im sure Alexander Siddig will deliver.
