Names don't mean anything, it's us fans who say that Rockstar has to restart the series every time they go up a number. I know, but I was saying that Rockstar are perfectly within their rights to call their next game GTA V even if it is to GTA IV what Vice City was to GTA III. To build hype, because if you're put forth all the info to begin with, then there is no hype I remember people were still guessing the location till BlueSpot anyone remember him? Good times My guess? They're probably going to keep the roman numeral system going, seeing how it worked with GTA IV. Adding the name of the location would destroy some of the hype With the GTA III era games, they said straightforth that they were doing it in accordance to GTA 1(or was it 2?) map. You would basically know the next location. With this new era of GTA games, there does not look like some coherancy within the titles. Maybe so? The initial game of each generation has been GTA *, with the asterisk being the generation number. It's only been since III that it's been Roman numerals, though - GTA 2 used the Arabic numeral. That's not to say the next game in the series is going to be GTA V, though. It's entirely possible that we'll see a spin-off title next year, but the location is unknown. Rockstar have thrown a few hints out there, but they're all in different directions. I, personally, think we'll do a Vice City-esque game again, i.e. one that utilises a much more upbeat mood and tone, although I'm not saying it'll necessarily be Vice City. As it stands the IV era games only consists of one city and the timeline has only spanned from 2008 to 2009. That's not very good imo when compared to the III era which has a much bigger timeline with a larger variation in environmental settings. I definitely think this era needs more time to grow, and it certainly needs to go beyond Liberty City. Just because GTA3 did it that way doesn't mean GTA4 has to.
