What are the chances of it actually being called a roman numeral again, R* knows were expecting a kickass game, they would probably make a new era, there was already four games in the IV era (4, TLaD, TBoGT, EFLC) Why should it named V? For all we know, it could be named GTA: The Philippines, I made this thread in recognition of the next title, why should it be named V and why not? Also do you think this is the end of the IV era? None of us know what it'll be called, so V is just a temporary name. It most likely wont be called GTA V. I also think it'll be in the GTA IV era. Seems to me R* fleshed out Liberty City, and have something lurking in the shadows. I don't believe for a second the GTA IV era is done with yet. Vice City back in the day was often referred to as GTA 4 before it was announced as GTA: Vice City. The same applies here. This era shouldn't be over just yet, it wouldn't make sense. We still need to see the IV era version of VC, SA, and possibly even some new locations. Otherwise the IV era will seem too shallow, consisting of only LC in the late 2000's. Really the list of potential cities, or states to coincide with Liberty City in the GTA IV era is almost endless. IMO GTA IV has the deepest characters to date, and I would like to see them expanded on whether it's the past, or future to GTA IV. Well I hope so anyway. It makes more since then calling it V because first of all, its not actually the 5th gta and so far the roman numerals have meant a new era. So calling it V just seems like people think it will be a new era which is highly unlikely. It will just be updated gtaiv like what the III era did untill a new console comes out. I also think San Andreas from the III era will return for the NGP. It just seems like a common sense thing to me. Could be wrong though, but the III era is just perfect for the portable system. Something along the lines of, "If the next game is in the IV-era..." or "If the next game is infact GTA V..." But engine/console/etc doesn't define eras of GTA. That is down to the story's continuity. If the game is a new story, then they have every reason to call it V. IMO: They may do like GTA2 and have a standalone GTA V as a stop-gap til the next consoles come out. If they do that, they would likely have it on the Nintendo "Cafe" as well as the 360 and PS3, and have a portable game in the same city on the 3DS and NGP. Exactly this "we just call it V for lack of a better name", this has been debated over and over, i don't really see the point in continuing the debate. Sure, I would love it if Vice City, and SA, came back into the new world graphics, but I also want new, meaning; a practically new city, with nothing from the previous game involve, that's why GTA IV was such a hotspot, completely new graphics, gaming, map, and MP. The only GTA with 1 city is GTA 2 if I remember right, Anywhere City or something like that. GTA III has 3 city's and GTA IV has only one for now. I don't think even London would be a good new place to go to. LC VC SA is what gta is all about. Bring on VC2 I say but to make it more than just another urban area they could add tropical islands and maybe even a mini Cuba? Or they could just go straight to SA!!! They made them each in their unique way and gave it their title of recognition and all the little nic naks everywhere. Wouldn't it be tough to add another city in the collection? The only GTA with 1 city is GTA 2 if I remember right, Anywhere City or something like that. GTA III has 3 city's and GTA IV has only one for now. I didn't forget. GTA1 was one game with all 3 cities, not 3 games with 1 city each. They did it differently as I said. Also, GTA1 has the cities as LC->SA->VC, unlike GTA3 which is LC->VC->SA.
