Toup
My mom uses the Beltand problem solved! haha just kidding(she does when i get in really big trouble) but you parents should actually punish you for bad grades,or are you spoiled like most of the kids are on America. Do they normaly hit you somewhere dangerous in the head? Because that might be where the problem comes from.

Abel.
Hey! I am bad at studying . Although I tried hard, I can't get any high grades in class. I always study 3 hours per day. Sometimes I lose my memories that I studied. I can't listen to my teacher carefully. My mind is always on video games or GTAForums. Please tell me! What should I do? Hey! Please don't tell me that I have to disconnect with GTAForums. It is the great website ever! I've achieved good grades in exams and still played computer games and had connection to the forums. The key to good studying is first to find a method suitable for YOU--whatever it is it NEEDS TO BE ACTIVE. I find that for mathematics rote learning is NOT the best approach, instead doing as many practice questions as possible to familiarise yourself with concepts is best. However, for a humanities subject such as history, active note taking is they key to good revision (for me at least). By this I DO NOT mean "copy out the stuff till my fingers bleed", no, I mean instead that the main body of text should first be read, then notes need to be taken. These notes should be fairly detailed but must be different from the source material (if you simply transcribe the book you're just copying, not learning). Now, after this read the original material, then your notes, now write an even more concise set of notes using your original notes as source material. Finally, read the main text and both sets of notes before closing the book, the last thing to do is attempt to re-write the notes from memory, this tests what information has been absorbed, any missing information can be focused on later. In this way, you'll have processed the source material multiple times, which produces memory of it. However, study is a cumulative activity, all the time you'll be acquiring previously unknown pieces of substantive content. It's also worthwhile re-reading any notes you've made on a regular basis to ensure that the content remains in long-term memory. Study should never really be about "word for word" learning, except perhaps for linguistic study, but about understanding. Hope this helps. nlitement
Well, depends on what subjects you're having trouble with. Just tell me which ones trouble you, I'll try my best to give you useful tips. For example, with math, practice and algebraic manipulation is more important than recognizing the problem or gist of the question (which is the easy part, actually). In physics and chemistry, there is some recalling of facts, but most of it is easily deductible if you simply understand the underlying theory. Economics is memorizing a few definitions, a few models, and applying them in different situations, etc.
kmlwin.1996
My weak subject is Physics. Except it, others are good. That's why I don't always get good grades in my class.
nlitement
Anything specific you have trouble with in physics? I think the important thing is to thoroughly understand the theories. What I'm saying is that even if in chemistry you might be able to get away with learning just half the theory, it won't work in physics. I didn't really understand standing waves completely, so I had to actually read the same chapter through several times until I actually got it, and after that all questions related to standing waves become fairly simple. kmlwin.1996
I always get high marks in chemistry, burmese and biology.
ribon
You can't ace every exam in every field. Maybe in primary school, yes, but definitely not in high school or uni unless you're literally memorizing textbooks... Like people have said before, find a method that suits YOU. I remember when I was still in high school, my mind was always on games and I found it very hard to keep focus on the stuff I was reading - I had to read the same sentence five times through to get a rough picture of what it was about. English and Math were easy, but Biology, Physics, and Chemistry were a killer! I still dunno how in the world I passed those. My advice to you is to take as much time as possible for studying (3 hours per day is not enough if you're already in high school.. then again, if you're good at something (like Biology) and have some preknowledge, you'll need only a couple of minutes to learn the new stuff), listen to the teacher's lessons (you have to BE in class anyway and you might even pick up stuff not covered in textbooks), and ask for additional help from your fellow students or adults you know. You won't get good grades immediately so be patient and study.
gtafreak102
I don't study. I just use what I remember in my head. I get very good grades. I guess I was born smart

GTArv
Want some motivation to learn physics? Watch Richard Feynman's lectures. A lot of his videos are on YouTube.
