Drift-Kingz
Looks like I didn't answer the question here. PC. It's much more powerful, and can handle games much better.
Proud Fool
N64 for the split-screen multiplayer memories, plus games like Super Mario 64 and The Legend of Zelda. PS1 for games like Crash Bandicoot, Spyro The Dragon, and Syphon Filter. PS2 for the first 3D GTA game and the rest of the III era, plus introducing me to the Hitman series, MGS series, and Splinter Cell series. Xbox 360 for being my first next gen console and still being my console of choice currently.
*MURDOC*
PC. It's much more powerful, and can handle games much better. I hope you realize that this actually doesn't make a lot of sense. It would have been more correct to say that PCs can be much more powerful, not are much more powerful. It would be akin to someone saying "Motorcycles are much faster than cars, and handle better" While this statement is true a lot of the time, it is not a fact. Loch Dawg
Opinion = Sega Mega Drive. Parts wise I am pretty sure the PS3 has better hardware in it then the 360, I didn't really research it myself I just remember some kid in high school screaming at me about how thats the only way PS3 is technically better then the 360. I don't really care about consoles in this generation though, I had a PS3 and all my friends had 360, so of course I made the transition to 360 because playing with yourself (LoL ) can only be so much fun. If all my friends had PS3's I would have stayed with PS3.
cactus.
Based on personal experience, I'm gonna go with the N64. I've probably spent more hours playing that thing than any other console, while having more fun too: countless hours playing 007 multiplayer, exploring a 3d environment for the first time in Mario 64, and the legendary Zelda experience and getting a taste for z-targeting that would soon revolutionize the gaming.. Ok, so what I just wrote is more germane to games than the console itself. So..scratch that. PS2, console and DVD player? yes, thank you. And a controller that kicked so much ass it was hardly mended for the next generation.
*MURDOC*
And a controller that kicked so much ass it was hardly mended for the next generation. It's like the old saying "If it ain't broke, don't fix it". I always thought it was a great design, I like the way it feels, you can easily reach all buttons (and there are plenty), and it's very symmetrical, which is always a big plus for me. I really dig how they improved upon it without completely changing it.
Gezim
PS2 > PS3 > PS1 > 360 > Original Xbox > GameCube The PS2 takes the crown. It's the best selling console of all time. And it's still out there today coming out with new games. Still alive after 11 years...

Absurdity
Depends, really. If you enjoy owning headsets that swear the 360 is the mutts nuts, but if you want your console to leak personal information the PS3 takes the crown. It can be said with certainty however that if you're after a console which looks not unlike the head of Johnny 5, then Nintendo's Virtual Boy is champion. Taking the above into account I'd undoubtedly have to go for the SNES.

danjodan
Well technically the ps3 is the most powerful console at the moment, but the PS2 has alot of great games which the PS3 lacks imo.So id say the PS1 or PS2 is the best console
1st gtaROCKER
I think the Nintendo SNES and the Commodore 64 are brilliant consoles. And to all those fanboys of PS3/XBox 360 : your console probably wouldn't be here if these older consoles hadn't made gaming popular. So there. Sam998
Technologically PS3, Xbox 360 or some PC, but people probably have better memories of older consoles.
baptiste
SNES. f*ck the PS3/XBOX. Only 11 years old say they're good. Its kinda hard to say that about anything related to technology. Only if you say that you'd rather play an SNES and its game more than a 360/PS3/recent PC and its games 99 percent of the time. But you dont do you? You havnt played SNES for a while have you? DO you still own an SNES? And if you did, i'm willing to bet my nuts that you've played a crapload more recent games on recent platforms sh*t than it. The question is what is the "best" console ever made. Not the one of which you have the fondest memories off. Admidably you can say the PS2/gamecube because of a superb game line-up, but you cant really go back very far.

KilnerLUFC
The question is what is the "best" console ever made. Not the one of which you have the fondest memories off. Yes, but since this topic comes down to opinion, then surely the 'best' console in your opinion would be the one that you have the fondest memories of. With a topic like this, all it will ever come down to is opinion, since no matter how many facts and figures you pull together, no-one could ever claim that "[console] is the best ever made".... The 'memories' that people have mentioned in here are ones of where they obviously loved alot of the consoles games, meaning for them, the console was best in terms of the game line-up. That's why, as I mentioned, the N64 has to be the best console for me, simply for the amount of great games that the console had, and for how I could just sit and play that all day long. Just saying they were the some of the best consoles. And anyway, that isn't obvious to some people who only play XBox 360/PS3, and think they're the best because they're the newest consoles.
