Ash_735 Posted May 14, 2011 Share Posted May 14, 2011 On the general internet level, average person sort of thing, it is kind of stupid, but then again, you can't really have a Neutral opinion on the matter unless you either own all the consoles, or, own NONE of them, if a person owns one console, then obvious reason, their opinion will be a little biased towards their chosen console of choice. On a professional level, it's actually needed to forward progress, things like Valve bitching about the PS3 early this generation is what made Sony think about how they could handle the situation, along with Microsofts regulations, Sony used that to their advantage to give Valve what they want, which was a more open platform and allowing them to use their own Steam Networks on the PS3, etc. Where as Microsoft took the Indie direction by offering small time developers kits and competitions to get their name and game onto the Xbox 360 instad of the PS3 or Wii, etc. It's good to a certain extent when they try and out class each other into tempting developers and exclusive stuff to their brand, but then again sometimes it can be just outright lazy, like when Microsoft went through that phase of just throwing money at big publishers to keep games exclusive to their console and such. If it wasn't for PSN being down, I think the PS3 is a bit better than XBox 360. And I'm not biased, as I only own the XBox, and have played the PS3 at friend's houses lots of times, using all it's features.
