Long time ago the Hyman Condo was good at eating my cars and I never knew why. I read up it was because the main garage really could only hold 2 cars instead of 3 and it was a scripting error. So when I started a new game about couple days ago, I put only 2 cars in there. Well after awhile my love fist limo disappeared and everything proof admiral as well. Funny thing is I noticed when going to save my game at the condo I seen the garage was half way open before the disappearing act happened and thought it would be a problem, but didn't bother with it. lol So I just searched after about 10 minutes of searching its because of the helis. Sucks though I'm going to start a new game anyways at least knowing the issue now. Also I know about a few others problems I can avoid. When you fly over any garage it could possibly open up the garage and leave it open. I started a new game cause I lost the cars I wanted to keep. Problem with that? lol232 Posted May 12, 2011 Share Posted May 12, 2011 Lol, only the Hyman Condo Garage where I can store 4 vehicles open cause of helis, and I rarely save vehicles at that garage, I only keep one White Walton in it, and after playing 6 years, it never happened for cars to disappear! So... It only happened to me in GTA SA... Twice, luckily, the vehicles that disappeared are not the special ones, but the one I randomly found on Street... I have played BOTH the PS2 versions-The Greatest Hits AND The Trilogy Pack versions, and they are identical to the PC version. I don't have the Original PS2 version-only the Original PC version, so, obviously, I can't confirm it on the Original Release-Spuds(the Vice City Mod) does have the original PS2 version, so we will have to wait and hope he sees this topic to determine if (it is or if it is not) on the Original release for PS2.? Radioman is hardly a noob and is quite knowledgeable of the game... Regarding the Lovefist Limo-- I honestly don't recall if it is available in the original PS2 version (that I have)-- I don't recall seeing it after the mission.... will check when I get a chance if you want-- don't expect this to occur for the next few days as I am about 800 miles away from my VC disk right now... (on vacation) Regarding the disappearing car thing at the hyman condo.... IMO it is a combination of things that cause the cars to disapear-- but most probably is the proximity of the save point to the 4 car garage... if you enter the save icon before the door to the garage closes, the number of cars and the heli above can cause the vehicles to not get written when the game saves--- at least on the PS2 version.... it is having too many cars in proximity and the game trying to minimize resources by getting rid of cars it doesn't think need to be there.... this is also why you frequently won't find the heli on top of the condo if you load a game up from the hyman condo or the mansion alot of time (if you go straight up to the roof)-- realize almost all of my experience is with the PS2 version... I have the PC version but have not played it much at all-- other then using code tools and verifying stuff. I consider this an unintentional programing bug-- To be safe you should never save rare cars in the large garage or at least never save more then 1 or 2 in there.... HTH... I explained why I put it in the garage and thinking what was the glitch. Then it ate it and I discovered that it happens because of the helicopters flying over the garages open them up halfway and the cars will just disappear. Then I give you proof of several different links showing the love fist limo isn't available in the original vice city game, only during the missions and you continue to try and say I'm wrong. The issue never arises - and if it did, the game has a backup at a point before the problem occurred. You have 10 save slots to use...and an infinite number if you are transferring PS2 memory card files to a thumb drive. BTW the problem can also arise if you are driving by the Hyman Condo or Washington Beach (i.e. garages very close to the road)...but also if you are driving OVER the grass behind Sunshine Autos. Just as with the helicopter/plane issue, a garage may open and not fully close before you've left the vicinity when you are cruising at high speed by them. That is why these garages are often stated to be "unreliable" (like SA's chopshop garage). And it is totally FALSE. The garages ARE reliable if you know what you are doing. Each one of them can hold a maximum of 4 vehicles...no matter what. If you park a vehicle inside oddly (such as touching another vehicle), cruise by an area at high speed, etc...the odds that some may be deleted increase (in that specific garage or even other unrelated garages). You can point to any link on the net that will tell you one thing or another but it doesn't make it correct..... how many people think you need to spend $600 to complete pole position asset--- its in all kinds of guides (that copied the Brady guide) and this is wrong.... I disagree about the cause of the glitch-- yes a helicopter occupying the same game co-ordinates (irregardless of the height above the garage) will cause it to open but I don't know you you can say the door is partway open as you can't observe this when you are above and this is the cause of the garage eating the vehicles... it very well may be... IMO (which means in MY opinion) it is saving at the condo entering the save icon before the door close that can eat the vehicles-- but once again the problem only seems to occur if you put more then 2 vehicles in the garage.... About the only unique vehicle I ever store there is the Rhino that I get early during the mission Sir Yes Sir and I've never had it disappear (because I don't overload the garage). When someone has facts you don't blurt your opinion and say they're wrong. Thats just stupid. I never seen anywhere saying you need rank up $600 with several different girls at the pole position. Ever since Vice City came out its always just been "rank up $600 in the pole position". So you can use all 3 girls or just watch 1. Just as long as your money goes down by $600 doing so. I seen that garage part way open because I came up to the place really quick and it was rendering everything still and the garage door was literally only half way open. When everything rendered it proceeded to close itself the rest of the way. When I seen that happen I didn't think much about it till I finally found old threads posted (idk why it wasn't posted in a glitch topic) about this error happening. I found couple with same information about it, the helicopters will open and close the garages (can happen at any place when you fly over it) and sometimes it will be left open halfway. Leaving the cars rendered ingame. I guess when that happens either a ped will take it or when you get into other cars the ones in your open garage will disappear. It took me 2 days to complete because I'm working on the other games as well. I also don't get busted or wasted, so when I do I have to reload my save. I also took the time to watch all the cut-scenes because its been so long since I've played the series, was trying to refresh all the story in my head. I too thought it was $600 at first, but after He(Spuds) and either Justin(also a VC Mod at that time) or Demarest(I forgot which) stated otherwise. Then, I too confirmed it is in deed just $300. Like I said before, my area of expertise is mostly on the PC version of the game, as that is the one I play most. Though like I was saying, I never seen this mistake when the game was first released. When I went online to check guides it just said rank up $300 in the pole position club. And even if it's a game that I've beaten multiple times, I still like to take my time. There's probably some loser out there who beat the game in 3-4 hours anyway.
