I wasn't excited about GTA IV, I mean I didn't even knew it was released until a year after the release date.

None was talking about it, Though they started after a year.

So GTA V for me.

EDIT: oh, you guys are insane. I've never been so excited for a game like you guys described things in this thread.

GTA IV was my most anticipated game ever. Sad thing for me was that I didn't love it in the same way as I loved III, VC and SA.

(Off topic) to the poster above me, you spelled Niko wrong.

LOL. Thanks. Changed it.

I was excited about IV but not enough to join a dedicated forum or any of that. I didn't even buy it straight away, took me a good while before I decided it was worth an investment. This time though, depending on what news is given about the game i will probably be sad enough to line up at midnight or get it the day after. If i have nothing to do that is. More to do with what the game has, if there are a few new big features i will probably buy it straight away.

I was moderately excited for IV (the idea of bein in LC again killed it a bit even if it was a "new' city), but this time im lookin for a tropical vibe. Hopefully it'll be Vice but if the rumors are true ill be happy with SA. So I guess since eveyone has been hyped here for awhile now and Ive been here creepin for news and gettin excited, my answer is Next.

I was more excited for IV then I am for V.

I'm not even convinced that V will come out.

Hmmmm that's a hard one. I've played GTA since the very first one and I think my excitement has built more and more with each release. I was beyond hyped and excited for IV.

However there was at least mention of it 1 and a half years after SA. With GTA V there has been no official talk whatsoever, such silence has created even more anticipation personally for V than any of the GTA's so far. I think GTA next is my most anticipated game ever! (And sadly we know nothing about it, which makes my anticipation even greater strangely enough.)

How can you say when R* hasn't hyped you up for V yet? I honestly have to say it's a close call between SA and IV. I played GTA3 first and dove off the scene until after VC was released for PC and never followed the days before release (except for maybe a couple pics).

The first trailer I saw of IV had me going crazy though.

I was never to hyped about any of the GTA's. I didn't even see the SA trailer after a year or so.

GTA IV was the one I wanted- not hyped but in gear and was ready to play. The day I bought my PS3, I got IV straight afterwards. I'd have to say, my mind is set on GTA V.

I wouldn't like to disappoint you, but you may know that you'll probably need another upgrade when the next one comes, right? tounge.gif

I've never been as excited for a video game before (or after) as I was with GTA IV. R* really went all in with that game and you could tell by the hype that it was going to be a masterpiece. I hope and think that I will feel the same with the next installment, because I have a feeling that they want it to be as major as GTA IV.

They held a lot of stuff back from the main IV disc so I spoze I'm excited to see if they don't hold back on features. But I don't think I ever been hyped for any unannounced game as I am now, we've got the tiniest leaks to try and squeeze some clues for the next location from.

I think I only got excited about IV when I heard the first trailer was getting release. Ever since I saw that the hype peaked for me.

Probably not if they optimize it well.

How can you be hyped if the game isn't even announced yet? or even compare it to the hype of GTA IV because V hasn't been announced yet. There will probably be alot of hype when it does.

Im more excited about GTA V, mainly because back then their used to always be a new GTA instock or announced( Not DLC), since their hasent been any info about the future of the franchise im more excited but slightly angered/anoyed at the same time.

GTAV for sure. I was anxious to see gta4 from a technical perspective, graphics etc, but i knew it would end up being say the difference between gta3 and san andreas. looking back on gta4 will look like a piece of crap after V, as im confident they got the graphics down now and the gameplay side of things should be the focus now and will be improved greatly. Its only natural the map will be bigger too, regardless which city or state its set in

I was incredibley excited and hyped for IV... which lasted atleast 2-4 hours into playing the game until I realized... this is it?

Now my hype and excitment is to the next GTA, where they will hopefully bring back the fun (and not make us get DLC for cool guns and something as simple as a parachute confused.gif )

Right now, I'd have to say I'm more excited and hyped for GTA VI!!

I'll say: IV. Because I couldn't wait to see what GTA NeXt Gen would look like. The location is all I'm interested in at the moment, with V. Until I hear more, I can't be too hyped.

I think IV at present, hover as soon as I get a logo, teaser trailer, anything confirming GTA V's existence then V. Plus I have much more of an insight into how the games are made now than I did back before IV was released so I appreciate how amazing the games are now.

I guess I am more hyped about V than about IV. I was checking the forums back in 2006 - 2007 but now I have joined the forums and check the forums several times per day. I think it's because IV was so awesome!

I was extremely excited for gta 4 thinking I was going to get to take on the roll of an eventual russian mob boss, who takes over and runs the brighton beach section of brooklyn, but unfortunately that was just about the furthest thing that happened in gta 4, so for me I'd have to say once/if we know about the protagonist,(his ethnicity, goals, ambitions, motivations, criminal associations etc.) and the location i'm either going to be the most excited for gta 5 than any other previous gta or extremely disappointed and probably altogether done with gta. After that the features they do or don't add and detail is either going to further excite me or almost, completely end my desire to get gta 5.

I'm more excited for GTA V. I didn't really hear anything about GTA IV until last year.

The first time I heard about GTA IV was in 2006, but that was long before I joined GTAF. I joined GTAF a few days before GTA IV's original release before it got delayed. So I pretty much joined right in the full swing of the "hype". Though the funny thing is at that time I didn't even know if I was going to get GTA IV since I didn't have a PS3, or 360 yet I was still excited for it.

Atm I can't say whether I'm more excited for GTA V, or not. The only thing I have to go off is I know there'll be a new GTA. As soon as the information comes out, with stuff like screen shots etc I think that's when the excitement will kick up a gear.

Every GTA game gets me more and more excited. I really got into it with GTA III, I was fairly excited, but I was just a kid so I got excited over a lot of things. Vice City got me pretty excited as it looked so much better and I loved the Miami vibe. I was ecstatic for San Andreas because of the huge map and it didn't disappoint. I was even more excited for IV, because it was the first on a next-gen (now current-gen) console. Plus it gave Liberty City a must needed revamp and a much more intriguing story while keeping some of the funnier things that GTA is known for. Now V...what are they going to do next? How will it be improved? What setting? Will it turn out to be an additional IV-era game after all? Really if you think about it, the answer to all these question can't really be negative. GTA V or next has nowhere to go but up. The only thing that could screw them over is if they go to Hawaii (why do some people think that's a good idea?), Bogota (Max Payne has South America covered), or Los Santos without the rest of San Andreas (L.A. Noire already filled my personal Los Angeles needs).

Good question there, Sam! It's somewhat hard to say, but based on the way GTA4 was rolled out, better then this time around, if you ask me, it was more exciting by a bit!

You could make some very good guesses because of the package of reviews and trailers before the game dropped, even that last week was pressure for us fans!

GTA 5 is a wild card for me, I don't assume it will be all new characters or places, but I do believe it will be the USA, I believe it will be city for sure, some other elements for a larger map complexity, and some past reference, Add to that that the engine; Rockstar Advanced Gaming Engine and the Euphoria elements are worked out and not as much a hit or miss trial tested.... It's going to be pretty familiar on the same consoles I should think

I opened my first account here in 2002, so I've been following releases since Vice City.

I get more and more excited for each one, and each game has been better than the last.

V is going to be incredible. Can't wait.
