Sam998
I started on IV (and then backtracked) so I can't really say, but for people who where around before IV was released which, looking back, have you been more excited for?
XTREME0235
I think IV took the cake for excitement wise. The fact that the graphics at the time was a big boost by Rockstar just made everyone cringe with excitement. It was a first and it was truly spectacular. I think with GTA V, we will but we won't expect too much. I think the next title will be very similar to GTA IV graphics wise which is why I don't seem that much more excited like I was with IV. Just my opinion.
Tough Tony
Ima have to say GTA V on this one. I mean I was real excited when GTA IV because I remember getting high smoking weed with all of my friends after school (lol sounds bad doesnt it). And when mostly everyone left my dude was like"Yo GTA IV came out today....whats up you tryna bop to Gamestop with me to go grab it" And I was with it so we went and when I saw the first gameplay with it, it ws nothing like it......I mean San Andreas was cool and it may be the best one ever, but its nothing like that new feeling and man I was hyped like nothing before......The thing that I didnt like was that I thought the Main Character would be chilling and doing his dirt in the Projects, because you know its in New York and I thought that was expected, but it wind up being a Russian Import names Niko Bellic which Im not mad at because it brung a nice story line that was rivaled by movies. You know what now that I think about it I was more hyped for GTA IV
HipHopHeadSeb
i was most excited about IV...... just because of the graphics. after playing the game my excitment soon faded. EDIT : @tough tony, i saved up a huge bag of skunk for when me and my mate picked up GTA IV at the midnight release.. that was nice Edited May 11, 2011 by HipHopHeadSeb
EmoNinja909
GTA V, IV didn't do much for me. I disliked the fact it was Libery City, although redesigned, I still didn't like the setting. The whole realistic approach put me off, that changed once I actually got to play it. The characters in IV were pretty dull and boring (IMO) in comparison to earlier GTA games. GTA IV was still a fun game, although it was a step backwards for me. The only reason I still play it is because of the multiplayer, that was something new to me. It's probably because my expectations were really high, so I was kind of disappointed with GTA IV. Yes the graphics are better than any previous instalment and it does have online, everything else was a downgrade apart from that. Good game if you're new to the franchise though. Hopefully V fixes that & overwhelms us with it's awesomeness.
Miro
I am more excited for GTA V. GTA IV was going to be a huge graphic change, and I think most of us knew it. I just wonder how GTA V is going to be, as they should now combine good game-play with graphics, and it should look amazing. ChorusGuy
I play and hype a lot of video games (for instance every years Fifa), but my GTA IV excitement was just supernatural. The night before release day, I couldn't manage to sleep...i was just too damn excited. I don't think that any game in the future can get me more excited than GTA IV did, also not GTA V. Dymez.
I was excited for IV, really excited. But I'm more excited for the next, mainly because rumors say it's going to be in San Andreas and to me, San Andreas has been the best GTA made so far (to me). sonnyBlack
Currently I was more excited for GTA IV. Like others have said, it had a lot do with the new graphics looking so real compared to the older games. The trailers were just beautiful. But with a lack of a trailer or even screenshots it's hard for me to feel as excited about V just yet.

Yeah I think I'm still going to be more excited for GTAIV than I will be for the next GTA game. Mainly due to the reasons here, the engine will most likely be the same etc., with GTAIV that was all new, that alone got me stoked for it. Dymez.
That's interesting people feel less excitement for the next than for IV because of the graphics. Especially with the development of LA Noire and rumors that the next GTA will be using the same method for the next game. The fact that they are capable of doing so, I figure would raise some excitement.

FelipeVinhao
Sincerely, I'm not in the age to say "OHMIGAWD, THEEZ GAEM WIL ROX LOLZ!!1!" anymore, but as a matter of comparison, I think I was more interested on GTA4 than GTA5. Not because I lost the interest on the game - for sure I'll buy it when it's released. But because there are other games that I'm interested too, from Rockstar or not. Just to list works from Rockstar, there are LA Noire and Max Payne 3 coming. Everything on its right time...
trip
Any new GTA game gets me hyped. Same here. Out of the entire series I think I was most hyped for SA. It might have been due to seeing how much they were able to do from III to VC, so I was excited to see how much more they could do with SA. It was a still somewhat a fresh time for the series and all, so it was pretty exciting. I feel we have hit a level state with the current hardware, so it is really hard for anything to blow people away. I am psyched for the next GTA, but only because it is a new GTA. I don't anticipate anything that is going to make me say "wow, that is groundbreaking" like some of the previous releases have. GTAWithStyle
GTA V !!!!! I was excited beyond anything for GTAIV but it will be double for GTAV once it gets announced. How could the excitement be any less? V is DEFINITELY going to be an improvement from IV and after TBOGT I see the potential for some extremely epic missions and I can't wait to see the new city even if it's VC or SA again, actually I will be more excited if it IS one of those places again. I'm one of the few who didn't give the slightest fuk about the stuff they didn't add to IV that were in the previous games... IMO the graphics, story, dialogue, gameplay etc made up for everything. GTA_stu
Well I got crazily excited for IV, I was going absolutely bonkers for it. When they put up the website counting down till the release of the first trailer I nearly exploded. I checked it everyday just watching the thing slowly tick down. Then with each little bit of info coming out my excitement grew and grew. Then in the days running up to the launch I spent a lot of time watching gameplay footage online. GTA IV was pretty much all I could talk about and I drove my friends crazy. I went to the midnight launch and let me tell you when I finally got home I was nearly hyperventalating, it was like the feeling you get on christmas morning when you're a kid and you're just about to start opening all your presents. I got ridiculously hyped for it, so it will take something extra special for me to get so excited for V. We don't know anything about V yet though, so ask me this question again about a week before the release of V and my answer might be different.
