Straznicy
I'm something of an atheist but my interpretation of Heaven and Hell is pretty similar to that of many Catholics. They're concepts that are too often viewed in a material way - fire, brimstone, clouds, angels et cetera. Even the assumption that they'd be a physical reality much like what we experience on Earth. Heaven is complete oneness with God. Evil cannot manifest within the realm, which is where the difficulty in imagining Heaven comes along. It's complete perfection and bliss, something humanity's never experienced and thus cannot comprehend. I like to think of Heaven as like laying around in bed on a Sunday morning, utterly content and snug, with no concerns or stresses. Hell is therefore the opposite. It is the complete absence of God, which again, is something humanity has never experienced. It is pure evil - so I imagine it would be a feeling of isolation, pain, stress... any negative emotion you can think of pretty much. However, in my limited study of the Abrahamic faiths and texts, I've came to the conclusion that nobody ever gets sent to Hell. God is all-loving, without exception, thus condemning one of his creations to Hell is gastronomically hypocritical. I think Hell's position has been played up since Christianity's inception because it was a convenient tool for missionaries and clergy in pursuing their ends. Nobody wants to get stuck in a f*cking volcano with a red-hot poker getting shoved up their arse for all eternity, know what I mean?
[SM]CJZera
Heaven? A modern society with architecture relying on high, crystal towers. And Hell would be just cold, vast, plains, forever in night, dead trees and abandoned farmhouses laying around along with a piercing silence disturbed only by the sporadic rustling noises of beings lurking in the darkness... Designed in such a way that you never meet with any fellow hell dweller, destined to forever roam alone in a dead world of darkness... That would be of course my own version of hell, which if it were designed as punishment would be rather effective on most human beings...
trip
Since I gave up on Heaven and Hell after I was old enough to 'think', my vision of Heaven and Hell is as it was depicted in Bugs Bunny cartoons. I really wish I could have found a few supporting pictures. Damn internet. Yet you hear those Christians saying "well, god's love is a different like of love" which proves that Christians don't want to face the truth after years of going to church. I know this isn't a religion topic, but to me religion is all bullsh*t. And I like you, studied Abrahamic religions. My name in Persian means Jesus but I don't even give a f*ck. My entire family is atheist anyway.

TEoS
Burning forever, while initially sh*tty, seems kinda lame. I mean, if you've been on fire for like 2,000,000 years, wouldn't you just kinda get used to it after a while? In that essence, I feel like hell would have to constantly be changing to make your suffering constant. Just as the pain starts to become a normal thing for you, you'd shift to a pleasant setting, maybe with only a distant memory of the suffering you've endured. You're with your family, everything is perfect, and then BAM. Demons emerge and rip your family to shreds in front of you. Now you enter a new phase of torture, something completely different from what ever you've been enduring for the past 2,000 years or whatever. Rinse repeat. Heaven, meh. It's hard enough following God's rules on Earth, imagine if he was your neighbor? Unless Earth is just a proving ground for the worthy, and then Heaven is just a baller ass party for all eternity. I guess that'd be cool and worth it.
Docfaustino
Hell? Why, every day is St. Patrick's Day at an Irish Vegan Pub. Every night is open mic night to a crowd of undesirable Persians. And Heaven is absolute bliss. I consider it superstition, I don't know what it is, but I'm thoroughly convinced that every time you make a wish for x item to be in heaven, it becomes true. Heaven is a personal heaven. A realm for every occupant (fashioned like doors made of clouds) contains their stomping grounds of everything they desired. Anything depraved or satanic that is desired by the occupants will be burned away in to golden/white smoke. I was raised to believe in heaven and view it this way. Unfortunately, I'm at the age where I start to doubt its existence. Can't help it. Wish I could.
titereburn
I have believed in God for almost 3 years, and I never really imagined that much hell and heaven: Heaven, harmony, beauty, laughing, and eternal happyness. Hell, fire, anguish, hate, rocks, heat, sweat, constant physical effort.
Drift-Kingz
I generally don't believe in Heaven and Hell, but I'll try. Heaven: A place with fluffy clouds, rainbows, angels playing harps, and something like this. Hell: I think of it as a dark cave with fire and lava all around with a big boiling pot in the middle for people to go into. Why? Torture. Also, this. Typhus
Here's what bugs me, if my deepest impulses are telling me to commit evil, perverted acts yet I stop myself, shouldn't I finally be able to live out those fantasies in Heaven? Because I showed restraint on Earth and didn't start killing things? But then, would it be Heaven if you could wish for things that are really, truly evil and disgusting to most people? If my true nature is evil yet my actions are good, would I be better off in Heaven or Hell?

Saying that thinking of sin is the same as committing a sin is pure foolishness. Designed solely to condemn humans to that same dreary cycle of guilt and forgiveness. "Oh, God, please forgive me! I thought about having sex with my girlfriend even though we aren't married!" Nothing pisses me off more than those f*cking Christians who claim 'we're all sinners'. Absolute, undiluted tripe. No, we aren't all sinners. Because thinking something isn't the same as doing it, as you and I both know I don't appreciate being conned into feeling shame for crimes I haven't committed. A man cannot help his true nature. Some people do bad things but inside are good people. I try to do good things, but inside am very bad indeed. Matters of the soul are not nearly as important as what you actually do in life. I don't really care if you're having fantasies about killing little children, if you still make a concious decision to do good rather than evil, you are not a sinner. agent17
I am an atheist, but I suppose I would like to imagine the afterlife like this: As you die you are manifested as some form of energy in a separate universe, in this universe you are free to do whatever you want. The power to create and destroy, the power to manipulate whatever you want. You become a god of your own domain. Free to do whatever you want for all eternity, of course time and space would have no effect on you. I guess hell would be the inability to create your own universe, you would be doomed to wander your own universe unable to do anything or interact with anything. Probably like a ghost. Although if this was the way of life, a "hell" wouldn't exist, and everyone would achieve the same state in death.
