Big-_-t0ny
Hey guys my ATI 5450 is only running 17-18fps on LOW on GTA 4 and can barely run BC2. Now i want a GPU that can pretty much just about max IV but isn't too costly, lets set a budget of around £150... PC specs: 550W PSU 8GB RAM i5 760 MSI H55D-ED55 I just need it to run these 2 games well, don't really care about BC2 since i have it on PS3 but i wanna use the movie maker on IV and trainers and just get more out of the game...so yeah, i was thinking of a 6850? Help pl0x. EDIT: Also my monitor is a 20" DVI, 4:3 monitor, 1280x1080 i think, so not running max resolution.

Jigglyass
If you find me a 6950 for under £200 then please link... Its usually £220 with VAT, but id suggest to save up tad more and get that, or else opt out for 560Ti.

yoječ
Try to find a GTX470, which is overall a better choice than GTX560Ti. On stock settings it's slightly slower, but it overclocks much better. It has also more memory which might come in handy.

yoječ
Actually power consumption difference isn't really that significant. According to techpowerup, GTX470 uses 30W more power under maximum (surreal) load. http://www.techpowerup.com/reviews/NVIDIA/..._560_Ti/25.html A proper 550W PSU will handle that without any problems. Big-_-t0ny
Ok i found it, it's a PSU made by CIT.
yoječ
Sorry to say that but this PSU is just plain sh*t (CIT = ColorsIT). It is crucial to replace it.

bluterus
Ok from my Experience with GTA4 its the video ram that makes the difference. I use to run it on my Q9550, asus p5q deluxe, 8gb OCZ platinum ddr2, EVGA GTX275 1792mb max everything and always ran fast with no graphics glitches at 1920x1080 with 100 everything including traffic density. I then tried running it on my new pc which has i7-950, evga ftw3 x58, 12gb Gskill ripjaws ddr3 1600, two gtx570's in sli only tried it for 2mins and it wasn't working in sli so couldn't even turn the view distance all the way up as it only detected one card with 1280mb and at 1920x1080 it was doing about 2fps but this was the vanilla version so very glitchy it probably could max it if I messed around with it. I've just built a media centre with some parts I had laying around E7200, Asus p5kpl am/ps, 4gb ddr2 800, XFX radeon HD6870 1gb and at 1920x1080 everything on highest with vsync off, definition off, 30 traffic density, 40 draw distance and 35 view distance. The games patched to 1.0.7.0 and I have the latest video card drivers and I'm getting textures missing at times and when I go into romans taxi place the door opening where you can drive the car in is one solid colour until you drive into it then it goes see through. On the benchmark this gets average 35fps on max everything. To be honest its good enough and the card can run NFS shift 2 max everything 1920x1080, Bad company 2, Bulletstorm, Crysis 2. Wow that 6950 is cheap bloody buy it!
