E3 2011 Official Topic

I know there have been various topics in the GTA V section, but I figured with just under a month to go, we could do with a discussion topic in here. This topic can provide us gaming chat regulars with a space to discuss what we're looking forward to seeing from which games, without cluttering the various individual game topics.

 

Anybody as excited as me? If not, why not? Maybe these pages from IGN will help.

 

So far we know Microsoft's conference is at 9:30am on June 6th, Sony's is at 5:00pm on the same day, and Nintendo's is on June 7th, with the time to be confirmed. I'm assuming times are Pacific, so add on 8 hours for GMT, making Microsoft 5:30pm and Sony 1am.

 

Personally, I'm looking forward to seeing more from Battlefield 3 most. Closely followed by Mass Effect 3.

Hope Microsoft will reveal a new Exclusive Game or Alan Wake 2 + can't wait to see some info for Uncharted 3: Drake's Deception and hopefully Sony will announce God Of War IV.

Pretty know all I need to know on the games that interest me. I'd say the only thing I care about is the Project Cafe reveal, GTA5 info and reveals of games we haven't been told about.

I do lie a bit though, I don't actually look forward to Deus Ex 3 E3 info. They've revealed so much already. I've already prebought the game. Don't need more info, just the game already. kthx.

 

Skyrim is one where they've held a bit back. Might be time for a new trailer. Same with ME3, might be new trailers or clips there.

Nice topic, I'm super excited! Can't wait. I actually always get excited for E3's. Gives me chills thinking about all the games that might be shown.

 

The most I'm looking forward to is, none other than GTA V. I'm going to be really surprised if they don't announce or tease it in some sort. I don't necessarily expect a trailer but just an announcement with a release year for it (most likely late 2012 or early 2013). I mean come on, it's been a full 3 years since GTA IV was released and we have heard nothing about the new installment. SA was released 2 years after VC...

 

Other games I'm looking forward to is an announcement for God of War IV, which I'm doubtful of. Also a new Half-Life. More U3 stuff. Resistance 3, the new Twisted Metal, and hopefully we finally see something on Agent. I also hope we see something new on MGS: Rising, and hopefully just some new IP's from Sony. Other than that, nothing too excited about anything else.

 

I also expect Sony to drop the price of the PS3 to $250.

 

EDIT: This sucks. I just remembered DirecTV no longer holds G4. I don't wanna f*cking watch it on internet streams.

I'm particularly looking forward to the Nintendo Cafe or w/ever they're gonna call it. Maybe we'll hear from some developers who are making something with the new dev kits.

 

Sony are supposed to have some "jaw-dropping footage" of Agent, but I wouldn't be surprised if we don't hear anything from R*.

I want to see something new. Not a game that I already know is coming out, or that I've seen footage of. I want to see something that will blow my ass off. New Splinter Cell would be awesome.

 

Of course new GTA, or maybe Red Dead, but that'll never happen at E3. It's just not Rockstar's style. They like to blow up their servers with a massive world wide trailer release.

I don't expect anything on GTA V just yet. I'm hoping for a sh*tload of new information on the new Twisted Metal. I can't wait to see what's going on with the new Nintendo system and The Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword. Maybe the new Microsoft console. I want some more info on Max Payne 3 and Agent. And I can't wait to see more info on some of the following 3DS games:

I always used to get really excited for big things like E3. But over the past few years I've started to just not really care any more. The best thing to come out of the conference is usually trailers for both new and announced projects, but that might just be because I'm getting more interested in film and less in video games. Most of the big games that I'm interested in in the near future I already know I'm going to buy,so more information isn't really that necessary. I'll probably actively ignore some of it to keep myself fresh for some games too.

 

I'll be sunning myself in Magaluf over that weekend anyway. I expect you all to aggregate the useful information for my return.

Why are people expecting MS to announce a new console. They have been pretty adamant that the 360 is going to be around until 2014, they said this with the launch of Kinect. That is why they put so much money into its development and release.

 

Just like Sony aren't going to release anything soon. That is the whole point of Kinect and Move, to extend the life span of both consoles. Plus, we don't need new consoles from either company. The PS3 and 360 have really only just had all the kinks ironed out, with the PS3 Slim and 360 S. It would be stupid to announce new consoles so soon. We only had the 360 S announced at last year's E3.

I'm interested to see more about max payne 3, I don't think I'll be getting it but if R* have some good stuff on it then I might change my mind, also bf3, some info on f1 2011 from codemasters as nothing has really been released yet, batman arkham city and anything from valve.

sh*t, I actually thought that game had been released due to how many gameplay videos I've seen flying around Youtube and whatnot. Whatever, I don't see this game featuring at E3, simply just a release date been finally given on the game.

 

Can't wait to see if Ninty live up to the rumours and show off their new console, whether it be a prototype or the real thing. It's going to be cool to see how they try and make their way back into the hardcore gaming market, as that's what has been promised so far.

@Iminicus, it's been rumoured that they will be showcasing the new console, but not as the console itself, if you get me. The new console is apparently already been tested right now, but sits inside a PC case.

I just hope Valve got more sweetness up their sleeves. They said a while back that they had "three projects" to announce and one of it was DOTA2 (which I don't give a f*ck about frankly). I just hope the two other projects are worth it (hey, it's Valve!). But even better would be a new title from the Half Life franchise. I don't care wether it's an episode or Half Life 3... as long as it continues the epic story.
