Don't come back and tell us today though, wait a week as far as affecting school research and such goes. [SM]CJZera
My advice? Ctrl+Alt+Del/Processes/xwatch.exe/Right click/end process/yes Of course, you should still go on once a while with the log activated just to fake some internet use... Or wait, knowing how computer illiterate people who do this are, just spend one entire day doing nothing wrong, visiting "good" sites and then, find which folder that is installed and chances are the log will be a .txt given the nature of it's creators, so just copy it and paste it over every day before your mother goes in... Or wait, you can delete xwatch and tell her your antivirus detected it as a known trojan keylogger, toss some fancy tech words there so she believes it... And I mean just a simple "find the instalation folder then press shift-delete on all" way Thank <insert god here> that my parents don't know that much about computers... [SM]CJZera
Well it has to be installed somewhere... You just need to find it and tear it appart somehow... Then blame it on the antivirus... It would really help to know it's file structure over here... There should be some way to dissable it somewhere in the internet...

Adler
Flood the log deliberately with a myriad of inappropriate sites. When your parents confront you, just point out the futility of monitoring your browsing and promise that you will continue to flood the log until the software is removed. It may risk you losing internet or computer privileges but it's worth fighting for.
Rockworm
I do find the idea of "it's her house, so you will abide by her rules whatever those may be" a bit absurd. it's like saying "you have to support and worship the great leader just because you were born in north korea". on a more related note, "god" help you Its different and you know it. These people raised you and your their responsibility. When your grown up that has changed. Its no different anywhere else. My dad was very strict about it when I was younger "you do it my way or get out" If I couldn't afford my own place than I had no choice but to follow the rules. Following your logic a landlord isn't allowed to make any rules at all because hey why should I follow any? it was their choice to bring you to the world, and it's their duty (read: they HAVE to do it) to raise you. there's no point in following rules that are based on false perceptions. I'd say that you're grown up when you're 18. only then can they put absurd rules and ask you to follow them using the excuse that you're an adult and you have to pay blablabla. but with the current economic situation it's very hard for anyone to find a job, not to mention someone who just turned 18, so I'll assume they didn't really care for your well-being, or they were such stuck-ups that I'd rather be homeless and a beggar than live in the same house with them. the values in USA are different so you probably won't agree with me, but if I were you, I would have talked to my parents sensibly and responsibly with arguments why they should really not restrict me from doing anything. if they insisted on censoring stuff without reason (harmless websites or shows they didn't want me to watch) I'd tell them they're f*cking nazis and it's a shame their my parents, I ain't 5 anymore. simple as that. To use their stupid rules and shouldn't be followed but to them its everything. I hate their religion. I hate how stuck up they are. I hate the economy. But if you knew my dad you wouldn't even bother with this post because it really was his way or the highway. And whats this about not caring so just get out? Twist it around to make them look bad but the truth of it is it was simply my choice. I can continue to follow the rules and have a place to stay when I can't find a job or I can get out. How hard is that for people to understand? The rules may sound stupid on paper but there really was no arguing the issue. Nothing I could say to change it. Only way it did was I started paying my own way.

Kwandilibro
And you're almost 18? Wow. This. A couple of years ago, my parents installed some program called "Safe Eyes" that blocked stuff that was supposed to be offensive or whatever. But for some reason, it classified damn near everything as offensive. Came back to bite them in the ass since it also blocked any emailing functions. I guess my advice would be to get the f*ck out once you hit that magic number.

Its basically giving her ammo every time you go to a harmless site and some dick puts something that the program logs......... I'm with everyone else f*ck the rule here. [SM]CJZera
Well, from what I've been reading, what xwatch does is email someone when you slip... My advice, unplug the internet, kill the process, find the instalation folder, burn it to the ground... That should do it... If not, live with it... Try getting some free proxy or something EDIT: From what I've read, if you kill it with taskmanager, it will send a report, but if you erase it from the boot startup list it will not report anything at all, you should still run it once in a while so it reports something at all, just make sure it's not on while you do internet browsing... Kyle F
The internet is so bad! It's full of perverts and should be shut off! Are you retarded? You can't "shut off" the Internet you fool. The Internet is a global system of interconnected computer networks that use the standard Internet Protocol Suite (TCP/IP) to serve billions of users globally. It'd take years to fully disconnect and shut down the Internet. Years if not generations...
