The-King
there's nothing stopping you from not doing it. Except the fact that you don't want to stop? Which is essentially the basis for a psychological addiction. AceRay
people who are like 13 that smoke cigs and say "it's my own decision" annoy me so f*cking much. there's no f*cking reason at all to smoke, why would you even do it in the first place you fag. admit it, you are weak and succumb to peer pressure. I think that people who are 13 and drink, smoke and take drugs have bigger problems to worry about than peer pressure, at least they should have, you have to be pretty dumb to start doing that sh*t when you're 13. Charlie Sheen started smoking crack when he was 13... nuff said. Edited May 13, 2011 by AceRay

AceRay
@Dyablo gta: you should definatly kill yourself, it will make everything easier . seriously, what is the problem with you Jules? Your parents are just trying to make sure you get good grades, its not like your friends are trying to get you deal drugs or get drunk or anything serious. get a f*cking grip on life and if it bothers you that much have a talk with your parents about it, everything will be fine. nlitement
Actually, no. I don't succumb to peer pressure nearly as much as some of my peers seem to. It's actually funny that I was the first one among my friends to try out weed. I guess for most people it's bumming a joint from someone at a party, but I just wanted to try it out one day and got it from a dealer. Anyway, not a big deal, overrated drug IMO. It wasn't nice to see though how a friend of mine progressed from non-smoker to "I only smoke when drunk" to full-time smoker. I mean, I've tried cigarettes and cigars, too, but I still don't see the appeal and never started. Do I just have stronger will-power than most people? creat3d22
A great many of my friends began to smoke, drink and do drugs. I cut them out of my life and never looked back. I always knew I was better than them, stronger. But for some reason I took pity on people and befriended them, even though they were - for the most part - easily led sheep. More lemming than human. Weak-willed and willing to engage in any level of debauchery for a cheap thrill. And these were some decent people at one point, not very intelligent perhaps, but decent all the same. But weakness is unforgivable in my book. So, they fall in with the wrong crowd. They succumb to peer pressure. One gets expelled, because he started hitting a femal teacher. One messes with the wrong people and gets stabbed in the face. And more than one of them simply knocked up some local whore and ruined their life completely. That is where weakness gets you. You think you're stronger than them because you don't drink, smoke or do drugs? How is that being stronger? If they do it because others around them do it, I guess that makes sense... and if they're 14 or so and doing those, chances are they'll never get out of it and get anywhere in life. I can't really defend cigarettes as there's no good in them, but if an adult smoking a spliff now and then and a few beers with friends is "weak" to you... I can't imagine what kind of a pain in the a** you'll grow up to be. Is this forum only populated by high school kids or something??
trip
and if they're 14 or so and doing those, chances are they'll never get out of it and get anywhere in life. I whole heartily disagree with that statement. I am a firm believer that experimentation should happen during school age when you are young enough to accept it as an experiment. From my experience the people that experimented in their youth don't continue to use drugs or escalate their usage later in life. It is the people that experiment later in life that seem to have problems with it. I did more than my fair share of experimenting when I was in my teens, but now I'm just a regular adult who works and pays taxes. I can't imagine what kind of a pain in the a** you'll grow up to be. I am grown up. And I have grown up to be perfect. Completely morally perfect. And it's primarilly because I have rejected all those mind-numbing parasites who have to dull their senses and whore out their free will to seek superficial popularity. I am better than them. In every way. And if that sounds self-righteous or arrogant to you, I'm glad. Because "self-righteousness" to a junkie piece of sh*t is simple truth to any decent human being. Men let all sorts of leeches into their hearts. It's true. They accumulate women so they won't get cold at night. They drink alcohol so they will gain the confidence they're too pathetic to exhibit in daily life. They smoke weed to sharpen the very mind that they themselves have neglected. They turn to churches and Bible-thumpers because they want to believe that their degeneracy can be forgiven. Compared to that, I am a God. And you can be too. That's the beautiful part. At any moment, you can decide to stop being a sheep and create your own path, free of all those things that try to rob you of your individuality. All men have within them the potential for divinity, for a higher state of being, yet they willingly settle for a meaningless humdrum existence. Whittling away the years, caring for nothing and no one besides their own decadent appetites, being slaves to human weakness whilst defending their weakness as 'fun'. Surely you can muster enough common sense and resolve to elevate yourself above the common, libidious hordes? Surely you can see that I am completely right, as always? "Arrogant" is the least of words I'd use for someone claiming to be morally perfect. There is no such thing as perfection and certainly not in morals. You are better than no one else, in any way whatsoever. You only succeeded at the choices you wanted for yourself. If a cannabis smoker is a junkie piece of sh*t to you, I don't even want to imagine what shocks await you down the line when you realize what world you're living in. I'm not gonna ask you if you've ever smoked it, since you either never did or wouldn't admit to it since it's so "UNPURE". I just hope someday you learn a bit more about life and people, and realize it's not so black and white. If you seriously think a cannabis smoker is a junkie, life will be a series of major, painful realizations for you. Don't ever take a sip of beer man, you'll be an alcoholic for life!!!!!!111!! oneone!!!! It seems to me you've made up your mind about a lot of things without knowing the first thing about them... as if your parents told you some scary stuff and you stuck to that ever since. Again, grow the **** up. and if they're 14 or so and doing those, chances are they'll never get out of it and get anywhere in life. I whole heartily disagree with that statement. It is the people that experiment later in life that seem to have problems with it. I did more than my fair share of experimenting when I was in my teens, but now I'm just a regular adult who works and pays taxes. Of course, experimenting is good. 14 years old is nowhere near old enough to accept it as an experiment. A 14 year old is a child. Also, I'm loving all the "BECAUSE IT'S COOL". Jesus christ, take a walk out of you mom's house once in a while... You think people make such choices only out of peer pressure? Did it ever cross your mind those people are old and wise enough to make informed decisions about some victimless pleasures? Maybe they enjoy the relaxing effects without spending all their paychecks on it, or stealing a grandmother's purse to get their "fix" of non-addictive pot? It's not that they can't have fun without it, it's just FUN for what it is and in non-excessive consumption. Excesses with ANYTHING will take the fun out of it, be it drugs or video games, drinking your favorite juice or having sex. Doing something "because it's cool" will only get you rejected by those doing it for the enjoyment. They will spot you on sight and see right through the empty mindless drone you are. People doing it "because it's cool" are usually the ones going "ooooh dude I'm so high right now!!". These people are called ******* morons (or 14 year olds). I can understand the sentiment, I was the same when I was a kid. Then I tried a few things, saw what was good and what could ruin a life... and met some people along the way who had gone way too far. I'm not defending crack, heroin, meth or such other chemical destroyers. But if you equate weed and alcohol (in moderate amounts) to a junkie, "because it's cool yo!" lifestyle then really, you don't know sh*t. Smoking weed does not necessarily equal "LET'S SMOKE WEED ALL DAY, BRO!". Finally, if you think weed kills brain cells... you're holding desperately to a 30+ years old study that's been proven to be heavily tilted. As in, monkeys breathing nothing but cannabis SMOKE for 5 minutes every day for an entire month have lost brain cells? NO WAY! Who would've thought you needed oxygen to function properly?? Nevermind the fact that when you smoke, you inhale oxygen along with it... but forget all of this. I'M TRYING TO CORRUPT YOUR SOUL! Nevermind the fact that when you smoke, you inhale oxygen along with it... but forget all of this. How about all the more recent studies that indicate it causes cancer, schizophrenia and a variety of other problems, then? Like this one. And this one. And this one. And this one. And this one. And this one. And this one. This one. This one. This one. This one. This one. And this one. I don't necessarily agree with Typhus, but I do get where he's coming from. At least he seems to accept that people are stupid, selfish and ignorant, unlike your utter twaddle about the majority "being able to make up their own minds". The majority can barely breathe and pick their nose at the same time. They need someone to tell them what to do. They are slaves to the trend, with one hand firmly planted on the guide-rail of normalised society and the other giving a half-hearted middle finger to "the man". Why do people become involved in habitual illicit drug use, or violent alcoholism? One of three reasons. They're either rebelling against a system they're too stupid or too ignorant to understand, someone told them to and they're not clever enough to rationalise it themselves, or circumstances have weakened them to the point that it's nothing more than escapism. "Victimless pleasure". Hardly. The main and most sensible argument for decriminalisation of drugs is that it severely damages the ability of organised crime to make a profit from their production and distribution. By buying drugs, be they cannabis, ketamine or crack cocaine, what you are doing (unless you have by some miracle found the producer or grower of such substances) is basically funding murder, extortion, gang rape, racketeering, and just about anything else that organised criminal gangs have got their dirty little fingers in. Saying "buying and using illicit substances is a victimless crime" is absurd as saying that viewing child pornography is victimless. Just because the victim isn't directly related to the end user doesn't mean that they don't have to account for the harm they are doing. Or my Mother, who is quite partial to the vine and loves to dance and enjoy herself? I have spent my whole life pitying my Mother. Do you really think I'd take on her world view? If I did, I would spend 90% of my life being content with unemployment and living in blissful ignorance of almost everything around me. I never had any role models and always knew my own mind better than the churches or schools that try to teach you 'correct' behaviour (Only to tell you how 'cool' University is because of all the parties and boozing.). I'm my own man, always have been. I'm more grown up than anyone else in my household and I'm the one who puts food on the table and pays the bills. And you tell me to grow up. Amusing. You are nowhere near me. You really aren't. Compared to me, you're just a slug. A bloated, grey stub of life crawling from rock to rock and trying to hide from the light. I've seen your kind before. You cast your eyes away from every sin and justify it as a simple difference in lifestyle. Heaven forbid you every say what you really mean. We can't offend anyone, can we?
