ZeroCast
Hey guys, It seems that numerous amount of people are facing issues with SecuRom and after installing GTA IV, I also jumped on that bandwagon and could only ask for help in these forums. Each time I run GTA IV, I get two errors "SteamActivation.exe has stopped working" and right after that "SecuRom Launcher has stopped working". I tried everything, updating SecuRom, reinstalling C++ Redistributables, people mentioned uninstalling IE9 which I don't even have installed :S, nothing has worked so far and if anyone has any solution for this I would really appreciate their help. Thanks.
Girish
CPU, RAM, video card, OS? Details, please. Have you updated GFWL and/or patched the game? Have you tried Xliveless?
ZeroCast
Sure thing, here are my Specs: - Core i7 860 - 4GB RAM G.SKill - Radeon HD 5850 - Windows 7 64-bit I did patch the game with the latest 1.0.7.0 patch along side GFWL and the problem was still there. Never heard of Xliveless to be honest but I am looking forward to play online so I don't know if that will work or not. It's also worth noting that I installed RGSC in hopes to make it run but that also failed.

That's the first thing I did actually, I contacted Steam Support but they responded by saying that Technical issues are handled by a third party support department and since on that page it mentioned SecuRom errors I immediately sent an email to them detailing my problem. The next thing you know I end up with an email telling me to update my .NET Framework which I did already .
ZeroCast
Anyone? Please?
mkey82
Try uninstalling all vc++ libraries you have installed and then install only the ones you got from steam, it should be in the game dir. Are you running as admin? If not, try temporarily disabling UAC.
