Buzzatuzza
Heyy everyone so i bought GTA SA on steam, and i downloaded it without problems of any sort, everything went fine. But then when i start the game up, and i click "New Game" it just freezes.. it dosen't even continue to the loading screen, it just stands on the "New Game" option, and i can't press anything in the menu. My computer dosen't freeze, well, it kinda does, but i can open the job list, and then shut the game down there, after that, my computer works fine agian. I have windows vista on this computer, and i've heard there is some problems with this OS when playing this game. I reeeeally hope someone can help me with this problem -Buzzatuzza

Buzzatuzza
sorry, but what do you mean by "w98 Mode" ?
lil weasel
Right click on the Icon and click Properties, then click compatibility. Seclect Windows 98. the game was originaly designed to run on W98. So you will be adjusting the Vista to settings used by W98.

Spider-Vice
Maybe this might help you Setting gta_sa.exe as Windows 98 mode might work, problem is, it's as Steam acts as a wrapper to start the game you'd need to start Steam in Windows 98 mode too I think. Girish
Your saves will be located in the GTA San Andreas User Files folder. Look for it in the My Documents folder.
