Rockstar20124
So, in GTA IV the only thing you can do to advance the time faster is by sleeping / saving. You don't have a choice in how many hours. It's always six hours. What if Rockstar gave us the option to choose the time to advance per hour? With a maximum of 24 hours. Just like Fallout. This should be available anywhere besides during missions or side missions like hanging out or dating. And while this happens you see a cool fast forward time lapse animation Which brings me to another thing. In GTA IV you see so many chairs and benches you could sit on. But it is impossible in the game to sit besides in your vehicle, for the TV or by the Cabaret club. Why not give the option like Fallout to sit in / on literally every piece of furniture. Eating your hotdog on a park bench or having your fast food in Burger Shot on a chair. Drinking alcohol sitting on a stool in the bar. Watching internet on your mobile at least in GTA V sitting down on some big building stairs. Maybe even sitting by the italian restaurant terrace while you are eating with girlfriends or friends. Ordering a meal. Just a short time and maybe a little random talk about the weather, news etc. or about chicks like with Brucie Anyway, here are some clips of time lapsing in GTA IV. The first one is from the very first trailer from GTA IV. From 0.18 to 0.32 Here are some time lapse clips made by gta fans: Anyway, I think it would be useful having the option to manually advance time per hour. And interrupt the advancing process when you see fit. Starting missions when they come available. In SA you had to wait for hours for your date Millie to get home from work. And with GTA IV you have random characters who are only available at certain times. With TBOGT you have Club Management which obviously is only available at night. So instead of going to your safehouse you could instantly advance time. And why not sit on a bench or restaurant chair outside with a nice fast forward time lapse animation

LCollusions
I would like to elapse time but not your way, it sounds like cheating. But still I won't like this in GTA.
Tough Tony
I dont know about the Time Lapsing in the game because I really dont understand it but I would definitely like to Sit Down. I remember lots of times when I was in the Park, because New York Style Parks are amazing and I wanted to Sit down at the benches and I just couldnt do it. Its a minor thing and I think it would easy as hell to place in the GTA world
foohy
I like the idea of being able to advance time incrementally; I've wanted it since GTAIII. But only in specific locations like the typical bed or a hotel room or something. A pause menu 'wait...' option like Fallout 3 would be kind of like cheating. You could just go to a mission indicator and wait until you're within the mission start time. Sometimes I go out late with Roman or Packie, get back at 5:00am and have to save which leads to 11:00am. I like to micromanage each mission start time so the cutscenes look good and make sense. Some missions -- like meeting Demitri on the boardwalk and Francis on the pier -- look really great and cinimatic when you do them at sunset or sunrise. Some cutscenes look good midday or midnight and some missions make sense at certain times. Like why would a diamond deal take place at 3 in the morning? Or why would a worried mother be hanging out at the boardwalk in the middle of the night? If the save time of 6 hours over or undershoots a good time frame, you either have to deal with an awkwardly mistimed mission or repeatedly sleep until you pass an entire day so you can get it right. Verdant
Yeah, And it was too dark too. I hate when i would need to advance time n go all the way back to any safehouses that r far so it would be awesome to just sleep on a park bench or something. Vecceti
So you just sit on a park bench looking straight ahead for an hour? Maybe there should be movie theaters or something.

WTH you want to sleep on the bench lol........This is GTA not the Bum version sike naw when yall said Time Progression I was thinking like they put something in their Physics engine that would allow you to see Hair Growth like Facial Hair and anyother Hair Growth so he would have to go to the Barbershop. So going to the Safehouse is the only Logical answer because unless you count in going to the Comedy Show are anything that you have to complete in Hours like a Movie then you would have to go to sleep to pass time
Rockstar20124
I dont know about the Time Lapsing in the game because I really dont understand it but I would definitely like to Sit Down. I remember lots of times when I was in the Park, because New York Style Parks are amazing and I wanted to Sit down at the benches and I just couldnt do it. Its a minor thing and I think it would easy as hell to place in the GTA world Time lapsing is basically fast forwarding. GTA has day and night cycles with activities availabe only at certain times. So, you could start these activities when you want without doing other activities or saving at your safehouse a couple of times. You decide how many in game hours you want to skip at the press of a button I agree with the Sitting Down. In real life you don't stand up all the time. You sit down on a bench when you are at parks. Maybe eating some lunch. Reading a paper. Watching female joggers. Texting on your cellphone or something like that. I am GLAD to see that this option is available in LA Noire ! So I definitely expect to see this in GTA V as well
SmC12
I'm not sure about the time lapsing, I think it should only be when you go to sleep at a safehouse - like setting an alarm clock and choosing what time to wake up. Having to wait for missions and just skipping the wait takes the whole point away and doesn't feel realistic being able to just do each mission with no waiting. Sitting down is a great feature I have always wanted to see in GTA. Some people think it's boring and why would you want to sit down in GTA, but driving around or walking/running everywhere doesn't really let you appreciate the detail in the game and it would be more realistic to be able to interact with things in the environment. Sometimes just taking a break and sitting down somewhere would be nice and allow you to watch as the amazing work R* put into their detailed environment and life go by. post
whenever i want to make time pass in GTA IV i just go to a pay'n'spray. only a couple hour advance every time you get resprayed, and if you don't damage the car you get a re-color without any charge. i would very much like to sit on any chair in GTA - even on curbs or walls for that matter - this is what you can do in LA Noire, so i expect you will be able to do it in GTA V. man it sucked to have a hot tub at playboy X's apt. and not be able to sit in it =p i don't really want the 'wait' system from oblivion/fallout in GTA. there was nothing going on in fallout if you sat on a rock for a half a day - and if you did see something happen while you were sitting there, it was likely to be something nasty, radioactive and hungry heading your way.. so there wsa good reason to cheat away the time. in GTA there's a living city to see going by; the AI do funny random things. suck it up and enjoy the game haha - if you could sit down in GTA, the problem of passing time is moot IMO. Finn 7 five 11
Sitting with fast forward would be very cool, sometimes you want to see what a place looks like at a different time of day, or you just want convenience rather than driving all the way to your safehouse. The speeded up time looks really cool as well. Being able to sleep on a park bench would be pretty handy as well.
