creat3d22 Posted May 20, 2011 Share Posted May 20, 2011 For what it's worth, after my CPU/GPU/RAM upgrade (specs in sig) I never could manage to run the game without major graphic problems everwhere. Basically, everything looked like it was some weird mix of diffuse and specular maps "fighting" with each other... not sure how to describe it but it was ugly as hell and I've yet to see the same problem in any screenshot... I tried 3 different drivers and only the latest, beta driver (275.xx) got the game running perfectly, and it's still doing great. I reinstalled the game probably a dozen times, tried different drivers (correctly replaced, Driver Sweeper + safemode et al), defrags a plenty and countless ineffective tweaks. So rule of thumb is LATEST DRIVERS. Your mileage may vary though... so I guess the rule of thumb really is: try and see whatever works, and for the love of god, once it's working, LEAVE IT ALONE! GTAIV can be a very picky, bad behaving b*tch. I still don't get why the past ones wouldn't work (including 270.61)... can't complain now, though Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
