Will this game be about a guy who has diarrhea and has to get to the closest bathroom?

seriously this looks good, but I lost interest in NFS after Undercover.

Looks great! Any idea who's developing it?

EA Black Box is developing it, they are the same ones that have made most of the recent NFS starting with NFS: Hot Pursuit 2, back in 2002. Though their last two NFS games were not all that great. Pro-Street was alright (never understood why people hated it) and UnderCover, which was really bad. They have been working on it since UnderCover.

So anyway, the game looks good, but then again it is a f*cking trailer, so it has to look good.

Hmm interesting, I was under the impression Criterion were doing the Arcade NFS's while the other EA made up of ex Sinbin guys did the now sim aimed Shift series? Meh I get confused with the whole branched nature of NFS nowadays!

Its hard to tell atm but I am assuming its gonna be a cross country race deal with cops involved a bit like a Fast N Furious meets Canonball Run in game form maybe? Needs more detail.

Bit light on details so far.

I think I'll pass unless there's 8 hours of uninterrupted, straight desert road to cover.

a la desert bus.

Get ready to rip up the road! Adrenaline junkies and speed fiends will find themselves on the wrong side of the law this November when they race for their lives in Need for Speed™ The Run from Electronic Arts Inc. The hottest blockbuster this holiday is a game that takes players on a heart-pounding cross-country race from San Francisco to New York. Launching on November 15, Need for Speed The Run lures players into an underground world of illicit, high-stakes racing. The heat is on – and it isn’t just the fuzz who are after you. Entering the race is just the beginning as you blow across borders, weave through dense urban traffic, rocket down icy mountain passes and navigate narrow canyons at breakneck speeds. Powered by DICE’s state-of-the-art Frostbite ™ 2 engine, Need for Speed The Run takes the action racing genre to new heights with stunning visuals and car physics that hug the road even at top speeds all built around a gripping storyline. The cars are hot, the racing is intense and the story will have you at the edge of your seat… all the way from the Golden Gate Bridge to the Empire State building.

“This is the year that Need for Speed goes to the next level,” said Jason DeLong, Executive Producer at EA. “We think that Need for Speed The Run is going to surprise people with its intense, thrilling story and big action feel. But the game would be nothing without hot cars and crazy-fast chases. So that is what we’re delivering -- explosive racing that will have players flirting with disaster at 200-miles an hour.”

Using the groundbreaking Frostbite 2 engine, Need for Speed The Run will set the bar with unparalleled visual quality and enhanced physics. Need for Speed The Run will also take immersive storytelling to a new level with cutting edge performances that will draw the player into a world with no speed limits, rules or allies. Autolog, the Need for Speed franchise’s revolutionary social competition functionality, is back and better in Need for Speed The Run as it will continue to reinvent how people play games, track career progression and compare game stats.

Developed by Black Box , a studio of Electronic Arts , Need for Speed The Run will be available November 18, 2011 in the UK for the Xbox 360® videogame and entertainment system, PlayStation®3 computer entertainment system, PC, Wii™ and Nintendo 3DS™.

Look forward to this game. I love the idea of San Francisco to New York. I wanted a racing game where you keep moving on and on rather than tracks etc. NFS: Hot Pursuit kind of game me a sense of that.

I personally like Need For Speed Games with an open world, but there are a few exceptions for example Undercover, the only reason I played it was because it featured a Bugatti Veyron which you don't see everyday in open world racing games.

I think Need For Speed Run is going to be a hit game.

Shift was okay but sometimes I lost the interest for playing it.

Midnight Club LA Remix (PSP) is a game I never get tired of playing.

Midnight Club 3 and the Remix versions were great they had everything.

Need For Speed Hot Pursuit looks like a great game but I still haven't played it yet.

Yeah, seems abit like Gumball to me. Start off in SF, race to a new city, then stop for a few days whilst doing some small races for pink slips maybe, before having to race towards a new city after getting some police attention.

Comes out day after my birthday aswell, get in.

Hah. Looks like a hardcore version of Crusin' USA. I like it. Then again I was really into the new Hot Pursuit game for the fact that it got away from the lame Need For Speed stories and just focused on creating interesting terrain and awesome vehicles. I'm curious if they can get me completely on board again now that their going back to story time. I do dig the concept, though. Guess I'll have to wait and see. Either way I'm going to be to busy playing Mass Effect 3 this November. I'll pick this up sometime next year when it's on a discount. tounge.gif

Let's hope EA will take example from Criterion Games, and build a game based on the ones that made the series famous.

Agreed and agreed.

I was very disappointed that the PC version didn't support LAN play. I ended up with the Xbox 360 version of the game as a gift during the holidays. I would have gladly paid money for the PC version just for a LAN feature though. I don't understand why it is so difficult for Criterion or EA to support a decent multiplayer feature... or even replays from races. Part of the fun of the LAN games on the older NFS titles used to be watching the replays from the races you and your friends were going head to head on. It's a shame that has yet to resurface in the series.

Hot Pursuit wasn't that bad a PC version, sure it took two patches for the weather effects to work correctly, we've been screwed out of the latest DLC, no LAN, umm ok then maybe you are right! tounge.gif
