PM him if you want to join . I have been reading concept threads a lot here. So much I might just say its the only point of the General GTA Chat. However some concept threads are great however some are not. The great ones have great ideas, and as their title suggests, great concepts for a GTA video game. But none are the same. Some have the great idea of shoplifting, car customizing, etc. Most of these ideas are posted here and usually end up here. However not all of these ideas are in every great concept thread, which brings me to my main point of what if we took some of the greatest concept thread artists (SammiiDoogles, Jacky Fiend, LuisBellic, The Lolwut Pear, Kwandilibro) and have them collaborate to make the best concept thread ever. Slap me in the face and called me a half-assed f*ck-tard if this has been thought of before, but I just think it could be pulled off. Thoughts? EDIT: I have thought of an idea. I will ask people to try out for this thread. If there is around 30, I will read their concept threads and let 10 pass. I will give 3 people the plot section, 2 people the game play, 1 the radio/minigames, 1 the weapons, 1 the vehicles and 1 the safehouses. We will vote on the title, location and time of the game as a group and then we will get the work. We will track progress though PMs and this thread (or a new one). Ideas? Claude4Catalina Posted April 23, 2011 Share Posted April 23, 2011 it works great....on paper. the problem is that it will soon become a clash, it wont follow a set storyline and just be an orgy of multiple missions converging into one mishmash of a storyline. people's ideas will clash one anothers, it'd work great between a circle of friends taking turns to make missions, but there's a certain lack of communication on a personal level for it to work out. But 20-30 members, that's just asking for a serious f*ckload in the mouth of absolute junk. I recently posted a preview of my upcoming mission and still got no comments... Anyway, your idea would work for a while but each person has different ideas and wants. But im working on finishing king of the city and re-writing some parts of it, then posting the russian concept Wrath of Conduct. After im done with those i've kinda been wanting to do a Carcer City concept. What if we all did a Carcer thing with characters perspectives? My idea of it is it being like GTA but with a bit of Manhunt's horror theme. (akavari112 started the Carcer idea. We've discussed collaboration but im not 100% sure that we should have our Carcer's together.) Even though I like writing concept stories, I really need to work on my grammar because sometimes I run out of good words. But ideas would need to be just that, ideas, not set in stone so collaboration can really happen. I suppose they would start with a map and some characters? drscot Posted April 23, 2011 Share Posted April 23, 2011 I think smaller teams like goose and dragonex on lincoln state, me, seth and kwandilibro on the US concept and Anth mufc champs and tommy Mufc champs on the vice city concept [i think it was you tommy but it was definitely anth] are the more successful.. You could use a board of directors style concept; the contributors all put ideas to the table and if there is an idea that clashes then do a vote amongst them. Have an odd amount of people so it never splits the table ... say 11 maximum. Have the most active member to keep the thread organised as a secretary or something. I was just listing a few. Those are all great concept thread artists and I think there is more. That amount of people (6 or 7) may just be better if I think about it. Since my thread is almost perfected, I will be starting a new one soon so it would be cool to participate . Then again I started that one in February so it takes awhile.. On Topic: I think 20-30 authors is a bad idea. I mean how can you make a good story when others corrupt your creative genius with their stupid bullsh*t? Anyway here it is: Basically the idea would be to create a topic that is a mix between a Concept topic and the Build Up Your Gang topic. The format of the story would be similar to a game that was released for the PSP in 2006 called "Gangs of London" whereby a set number of members would each take on the responsibility for creating a story based around a specific gang and would each be given a seperate post within the topic devoted to their gang where they could post weapons, vehicles, gang info etc. I was thinking the best setting for the game would be Liberty City in the IV era since it has already established gangs which would be easy for people to base stories around. The stories themselves would be mostly seperate but the idea would be that they would interconnect at some point in order to give uniformity to the concept. Does this sound like something that could work? or even something that people would be interested in?? If you need further clarification about any aspect of the idea just ask.
