Ye, they don't appear ingame if that's at the top of the file, i checked.

They work without it.

how long is it gonna be ? can't wait biggrin.gif because this is my first try to put sketchup models to gta 4 biggrin.gif i want to make a total new city addon to gta 4 and you will travel by helicopters or airplanes biggrin.gif like san andreas he travels to liberty city (which is not the full map though) but i will make a new cool map biggrin.gif like london or something

I really hope you don't mind me asking, but since I have no knowledge in modelling and coding, I have still a question left: With the new OpenIV version, will be able to replace a hole with the model rigged from another game, or is it necessary to create the model from the ground up?

hmm...is GIMS still working? I'm extending the heap size to boost up big file operations...that's not necessary

you'll be able to create or convert models from other games to GTA IV when the export'll be available

Hi,

 

I am trying to import and construct the whole of Liberty City in to 3D studio. So far i have managed to import some of the buildings in to 3ds but they all appear on the 0,0,0 coordinates after importing. Which file do i need to import to position the objects where they should be on the game map? i tried to import the wpl file and the view port just went green and i could no longer see the models i had imported. Any help will be appreciated. biggrin.gif

I have therefore exanple one, we want to see the Statue of Liberty in max, you will in any First img coresponds archive, you export the wdr, and image (s) wtd, you open OpenFormat.exe> Mass Converter> you go into the file openformat> and you put all the above will export texture.

in max you will click on you inport wpl, pampers you the wpl corespodant has the archive

You select the folder of all or there. odr and image, you wait , you do the same for all the map:)

I am very happy to receive your help. I will try the method you have described and report back. Btw i am trying to make a track mod for Rfactor or Rfactor2 using Liberty City.

Ok so as i understood from your message i clicked on GTA4 export WPL in GIMS then found (Brook_e.WPL)

 

Next Gims asked me for the folder containing the ODR files that i exported and converted from Brook_e.IMG

 

So i directed it to the folder and this happened...... sad.gif

Hi yes sorry rolleyes.gif , i should have said Bronx_E, but i have also tried Brook_N

 

I am a noob with GIMS and GTA file types, their is a chance i could be doing something wrong. I have seen pictures from Good-NTS who has imported the airport part of the map and constructed it in 3ds so it is possible.

 

So wpl is the Position file that you can use in GIMS to join all the map objects together? so if i am importing some Converted ODR from Bronx_E i should use Bronx_E.WPL to join them?
