Game freezes for a sec while steering a car

Hello folks.

 

I was avoiding to play IV on PC past 3 years, but slowy IV modding has reached completely new levels waking an outrageous wish in me to mod this game. So, now I want to play it on my laptop. It is Acer Aspire 5741G.

I have installed IV and it went very slow, but after I tweaked it by using Game Boost and "Contig.exe" tweak, it goes slightly.

But, before and after tweak a same problem existed. When I steer a car the game freezes for a second then continues. Same happens when I press A or D on foot. I can avoid a freeze only if I press and hold A or D for longer (2 seconds), so steering while going fast is impossible.

It is really nerv-eating and irritating.

Does/did anyone else has/had same problem? How can I fix it?

 

I won't be surprised if you tell me to get a new graphics card, because the one I have is a f*cking crap for gaming (AMD Mobility Radeon HD 5470), but I truly hope this problem doesn't require a new graphic card.

Try stopping the windows event log service.

When I click 'Stop service' a message pops up saying: "A stop control has been sent to service that other running services are depent on."

It seems this is a viable solution on XP, but not for Vista/7 as they have some dependencies, like the task scheduler service which really shouldn't be stopped.

 

For some reason, in some cases on XP event log service or the keyboard caused some stuttering like you're experiencing.

 

If you still want to stop that service, you'll probably have to go to run prompt, type in msconfig.exe and press enter, now on the services tab find and uncheck Task scheduler and Windows event log services and finally restart the system. Note that some PC functionality will be lost after doing this, but all the changes are easy to revert back to default.

According to the link on your specs, you have the EXACT same Processor and Video card I do(that processor has up to 2.93GHZ of power with Turbo Boost Technology. That is not a very bad system to run the game, as seen here by my bench mark:

I get an avg. of 62fps with the game.

ATI Radeon 5470 AND Intel HD w/512MB Dedicated VRAM and up to 3223MB total vram(2 cards with Switchable Graphics)

IDT HD Audio(Beats Audio)

Original game version-NO Patches. Only thing that has been updated was Social Club app.

 

This is on High settings.

 

Fraps was used for Bench mark-by pressin F11 key in game.... 

 

So, you should have no problems running the game on that set up...

Well, I guess I found a solution to this problem, if you have this problem just simply uninstall Social Club run the game, then game itself asks for it and after that install Social Club again, it worked for me =]
