Sorry for taking so long on progress,

Been working on San Andreas BETA Map.

The Palamino Creek lake didn't exist in the BETA version, it was just grass.

So i added grass, and...

A Dirt-Track!

Yes, you may of noticed, that this is the Vice City Dirttrack, near the stadium.

I thought it would fit into San Andreas, and it turned out. It did smile.gif

More map progress soon!

On the beta map( found in lil probe in or toreno's ranch) there are no rivers because of coloring mistake, so deleting that lake is wrong. sly.gif

Ah well, dosen't matter.

It can be a included feature in the mod smile.gif

Meh. Changing the map isnt that good of an idea.

Too much work to start with and may lead to the death of this mod.

Still, I prefer the lake better than the dirt track.

It's only a matter of how much time he has on his hands, and how much work he desires to put forth. I don't see how that could lead to mod-death. Only a lack of ambition could stop him then, which couldn't be caused by anything in particular.

Earsing Palomino Creek will affect the Catalina robbing missions, so IMO it's not a very good idea but I can change the script if you want.

Well, as no-one actually wants it. I'll delete it smile.gif

But i am having problems with other parts of map, for example: Bayside, if i delete even a single object on that island, the whole game crashes confused.gif

So if i delete anything from the map, it will crash.

But if i add, it dosent confused.gif

So i think either i'll try harder..

Or leave the map as it is.

 

I'll post some progress soon, possibly i'll work on Big Bear and OG Loc. Then i think all BETA Characters are done wow.gif

Hey good process and all. I dunno if you know, but i found a beta feature, well beta animations in a driveby file called "player_dvbys.ifp" in anim/gta3.img. There you can see, the player got a animation of a driveby to left and right (as in final version) and to behind and to front! So short to say, in beta you was able to shoot to left, right, front and behind from a car. Maybe not for every car (e.g. Dumper, Traschmaster) which doesnt give opportunity to shoot behind. What ya think on that? Would be nice such in your mod.

 

If ya didnt known to vehicles: I've seen on a screenshot, that the monster truck had a wooden frame as the landstalker.

Check it out, maybe im wrong:

Oh and btw about the Palomino Creek+Dirt Track there... any prooves for that? Wtf is this, dont do it like VCBE like adding IV/custom stuff into beta its bullsh*t, thats how it "died" i guess.

I'm not sure if it's really wood, looks more like it's brown and reflects something to me. I mean, if it's ps2 screen, it could be reflection. Anyways, you'd have to change the color to brown this way.

Have you checked your maps folder? make sure the part you have deleted isnt in there also check gta.dat isnt loading it.

In beta roads textures was in 128x128 instead of 512x512. It's easy to make them.

You do realise that some beta stuff is just unfinished or temporary material that rockstar put in the game for a while? Like the "LSPD" chopper. They realised its stupid to have a chopper say LSPD only so they changed it.

Indeed,

They used resources from previous GTA games and in the final version they improved them (texture quality, etc) and IMO in BETA mods shouldn't just reduce the quality of something as one guy said before they should try adding BETA stuff or change things to their BETA version .I personally prefer BETA versions because they add more features to the game in R* style. Also there were BETA versions because for example BETA map affect BETA missions and missions affect map a vicious circle is created confused.gif . I think a list about the features of a BETA mod is needed and not to discuss about BETA stuff during the development because these stuff affect the rest done or not.
