Toup
Thanks for the great help! Toup, since you know nothing about computers as you say, i suggest you go to your local computer store and ask them how much it will cost to put together a computer, it shouldn't cost much, and have them put it together, that way you won't screw anything up. Read up on computers you will learn fast, hanging around this section of GTAF is a great way to learn. Yeah i think i'll do that the first time, when i get more "used" to it i'll do it myself. Wolf68k
If you're going to do that then talk to the guy and ask if you can be there when he does it so you can learn. Better still get a family member or friend that knows how to come over and help you to build it. If it was me I would make you do the work while I watch over you to make sure it goes right. That way you learn by doing and yet supervised to keep from screwing up. When I learned I wasn't as lucky to have that, I just read a lot and put my own feet to the fire and it worked out. Toup
Yojo's second list can play any games can't it? Life has been hard and i'm trying to spare some money, not easy.
yoječ
Sure, my second rig will be able to max out most games. I'd make a few changes now though, some products in this shop got cheaper. Change graphics card to this: http://digitec.ch/ProdukteDetails2.aspx?Re...&Artikel=208874 (slightly better cooling) Change power supply to this: http://digitec.ch/ProdukteDetails2.aspx?Re...&Artikel=185019 (pretty much the same as Antec, but Seasonic has modular cables which is pretty handy) Edited April 18, 2011 by yojo2
Toup
And do you think i'll be able to build it myself? I mean, i've been watching some long youtube videos (i know it's not the better way to learn) and i now know (well more or less) where everything should go. And i found another swiss site but this one is on the french part (where i live). Since digitech is on the german part (i don't speak german because i was not born here) it will be harder for me to order everything, if you don't have time or don't want to help me with this new site i'll find a way of buying from digitech. I find this site good because you can order your computer already built with the pieces you want. The link : http://www.pctop.ch/pMachine.aspx Thanks Ps:I only want the tower Edited April 18, 2011 by Toup
yoječ
Building a PC is a fairly easy job. Just don't mess up putting CPU in socket and everything will be easy from there on. Toup
Just one question, wich one is the cooler? Edit: Nvm it comes with the prossessor Edited April 18, 2011 by Toup
yoječ
I did not include it in this PC to cut down the costs. If you want one, then check this out: http://www.pctop.ch/pInfos.aspx?CODE=B05E32 Buying separate cooler is only necessary if you want to overclock your CPU - otherwise you can use standard cooler that comes bundled with the CPU. Toup
The site says the motherboard isnt compatible with the tower
yoječ
You mean the case? The description of Thermaltake clearly says it supports standard ATX motherboards, and Asrock is a standard ATX motherboard.
Toup
But look, try choosing that motherboard and the case here http://www.pctop.ch/pMachine.aspx
yoječ
Most definitely it's just a bug on this site.
Toup
Are you sure? Because i'm afraid i mess up.
yoječ
Double checked it and they seem to be compatible. Both are within ATX standards so there is no reason why it wouldn't work.
Toup
I have to buy antivirus and Windows too don't I?
yoječ
Yup. Dunno about antivirus, but as for the OS buy Windows 7 Home Premium x64.
Wolf68k
Yes when you build a new system you'll to install an OS and antivirus. For the anti-virus both Avira and Avast are good and well recommended on the forums here. Both have a free version. For the OS, yes to Windows 7. However if you already have a copy of XP you can keep using that if you wish but with as much RAM and you're looking to get it would be a waste of RAM. By the way, you can buy the Upgrade version of Windows 7 and install it as a new clean install, but you just have to take a few extra steps for it to work. The key factor is that you save a good deal of money.
Toup
Sorry for still annoying you for this, really, but doesn't that case support (or something) , USB 2.0 and the motherboard USB 3.0? And for the OS wich one do i choose ? MICROSOFT Windows 7 OEM Home Premium 32-bit DVD 1 user or MICROSOFT Windows 7 OEM Home Premium 64-bit DVD 1 user It's the second isn't it? About the anti-virus i can download the free version cant't I? And by the way thanks for being so patient. Edited April 20, 2011 by Toup
yoječ
Case supports USB2 only, while motherboard supports both USB2 and USB3 (but only USB2 can be hooked up to the front panel of the case). Definitely go for the 64-bit version of Windows, since 32-bit doesn't fully support 4GBs of RAM. Yes, you can use free antivirus software if you wish. Wolf68k
Don't worry about USB3.0 yet. It's a new thing and not many things other than a few external HDDs support it and they cost usually more than their USB2.0 version OS read: http://www.gtaforums.com/index.php?showtop...st&p=1060439862 and yes 64-bit Antivirus: Yes you can download either one of those for free. They both have a Pro/paid version that's a yearly subscription but not really needed. Microsoft has one of their own that is also free called MSE or Microsoft Security Essentials that many say works just as well (or better or worse, depends on who you talk to) than the 2 I listed.
