tubbs51
Some say the quality here has dipped but until you've seen the Madden section of the EA Forums last year you'll think this place is the epitome of quality posters and topics. That place was a grade A sh*t hole with trolls and flamewars every where and Moderators that cant ban but could only report to the "Never On" Admins. But even then they couldnt IP ban. So a troll could just create a new profile in three minutes time and go back to immediate flaming and derailing of threads... Then the Spam bots showed up shoving useful topics deep into the layer of Pfizer Adverts and Nike Jerseys. Then EA added the Captcha which required you to enter a Captcha word after every post which caused double, triple, quadruple, and even septuple (i think thats 5 ) posts very often. And the funny thing is it worked to keep the spam bots out of the Madden NFL section but that forced them to take over other areas until there was little room left and then they spammed up the Madden NFL section again. Long story short 99% of the quality posters from 2008 are long gone and all thats left is incesant bickering and poo flinging flame wars that would make WWII look like a petty argument. So in short, it sure as sh*t could be worse.

d00d
Social news sites have been referencing GTA much more frequently now, with posting things such as Machinimas and requests for remakes of Vice City, London, etc. In the comments section this site gets mentioned and with a reach of millions, a few are bound to sign up. Member influxes happen and everything is relative. Just because someone joined after you, doesn't make them a noob. Usually a mature newbie is more valued than some arrogant old-boy who offers nothing constructive but his "Joined 2006" badge. Its pathetic. gtathebest4ever
I joined at the time of GTAIV, but I don't consider myself part of the GTAIV influx. Mainly because I post in most of the sections and I'm still here, years later. I don't make a lot of topics and I don't even post a lot, but when I do I try to use proper grammar and make sense. Does this make sense? You know it f*cking does.
ikt
I now feel superior. Registry date doesn't mean anything. Newly registered members can be better than long ago registered users. It's just the man behind the keyboard. Age counts too, a 10 year old doesn't post good posts as someone at the age of 20 Edited March 28, 2011 by ikt

But mindless keyboard slamming adults are worse because they don't know when to stop and think they're everything.
Cheat
I joined in early '09, but I still agree with you, a lot of the new members don't exactly represent the best of quality, but I don't wish to be "racistic" (lol) towards new members, 'cause not everybody is a troll, and about the 50 post limit - it's basically a good idea, but what about some members who only join for something certain - a concept thread, or maybe they don't even play GTA but wish to join the conversation in General Chat, Music Talk or Expression - true, we're a GTA forum, but I don't have a negative view against users who join for other reasons. willgtavcs
It doesn't matter when someone joins, its the quality of their posts/opinions and keeping a respectful internet commnity that counts. It is tempting to view older members being better, but that's because either people grew up and stopped making fools of themselves (what has happened to me), or have gotten themselves banned. Still older members should keep an open mind when it comes to acceptance and would be wise to not be overly self righteous.
Mister Pink
Yeah age and join date still can be misleading if you go by that. I logged on a couple of weeks ago on LSD and left a bunch of embarassing nonsense messages. MOVING LIKE BERNIE
JayC
I was 15 when I joined and I wasn't a stupid illiterate prick. Nothing wrong with new members, lots wrong with people thinking they are hipster and that everyone who came after them have made this place worse. Don't like it then get to f*ck. I'm now 24 and a prick, want to fight about it?

Robinski
Every generation will think the next one is f*cked. This applies to everything: music has always been getting sh*ttier, games have always been getting easier, films have always been pandering an even lower common denominator, exams have always been getting easier, kids have always been getting less well behaved and the posters who come after you will always be retards. The coolest kids say all these things are happening in their generation, and reference all the stuff they've been told was cool 20-30 years ago as the best stuff ever. Mafia Drive Gunner
Look, all the new members are just part of the interest that is gained when whispers come out about a current version of GTA or an old one. A lot of older members have seen this time and again. The dip in the quality of the forums smacked me in the mouth about 2 weeks ago when I came back on here for the first time in about 12 months. It was just disgraceful. Even a year ago it wasn't this bad. But to be fair, I haven't been too active around the start of a game release simply because I don't wanna get caught up in all the sh*t that comes up. Normally it ebbs and flows but really, the quality has dropped since I was last an active member. But, for anyone who wants to see how retarded I once was (and possibly still is ), go into my posts and look at my earliest ones compared to ones I've made since. Vast change. Long Haired Freaky Guy
Only thing I noticed about this forum recently is the lack of memorable topics, and the sense of a 'community'. Back in the days, all sh*t used to kick off, and we had some of the most memorable members/topics ever. Now half of the older members on here only post to add some 'witty' comment to a topic made by a n00b. And the having to do 50 posts thing is pointless, as they'll just end up highjacking someone elses topic to ask their question anyway. What's the difference between a pointless post and a pointless topic?
Voodoo
GTA fanatics excluded, this place would get boring pretty quickly without a few retards to bitch about. Thanks, retards!

Max
The retard levels haven't surged recently, I just think the last few weeks have seen a rise in retarded topics. Fnorg
I decided to draw a graph to better explain how the level of retard on the forum works since most of you probably can't work out your left from your right anyway. The overall trend is a decline in quality (ergo a rise in retard) with an expansion in quality occurring after a release. Of course, even between releases fluctuations in quality can occur. I'm a proud part of the latest wave of to hollow out any soul this forum might once have had.

Xboxless
I know, garsh that 4 influx was terrible. All the people that joined just for 4 are STUPID. I bet you anything that back in the day these forums are just like they are today, but the old members grew up. Tis the things go, youngins become active, old people gripe, the youngins become old and the cycle starts anew.
