grope_4_that_date
Hello, Recently I've been having problems making a table. It just isn't coming out right. I'd like my table to look like the one Spaghetti Cat made, shown here. Specifically, I'd like my title row to be lighter than the rest, and my rows all nice and organized. Please help. Regards, Victor Cetti Here is my failing attempt: • top need's to be a lighter blue • does not line up • odd space in between list Member Location(s) Time Setting Protagonist's Nationality deepthroatgta4 Liberty City 2008 Serbian
Ryan
You were doing it right pretty much except that you don't need a table code after every line. Just at the beginning and start. And to get the ones that are ligther blue and have bold text, it's a th tag instead of a normal td tag. If I understood correctly, here's how you'd want it. Josh
If you are using the table code generator like girish suggests, then you can't get the [th] codes. However you can simply replace the top line tr codes with th ones. Also you ca create non-bordered tables using the generator. So it's a pretty must have tool. Miro
I remember I had a section in my GTA Network - Newbie Guide topic. Here's a quote of that line. • The table tags! Yes, they're really needed if you want to make your post/topic look good. However, you have to understand the way these tags work. So, we have something like this:
GOODNiceCOOKPASS
GOOD NICE COOK PASS Let's make now a table with border, so we'll change the
tag into a [tableb] tag! [tableb] GOODNiceCOOKPASS
What are the uses of all those codes? table - Makes a new table, without borders. tableb - Makes a new table, with borders. tr - Makes the rows. td - Makes the columns. th - Title/header, makes it automatically bold. Learned these things from this topic! !!! NOTE !!! Please don't confuse the table tag with the tableb tag. There a huge difference. Also, when you use the (th) tags, you don't need the (tr) & (td) tags. They just use space and don't do anything. One more thing: don't confuse the [] & [/] 'doors' with () & (/)! Once you made this mistake, nothing will work anymore! ALWAYS open the (tr) tag before the (td) tag. And when you close, post the (/td) tag first, and than the (/tr) tag, or things will go crazy! The (table) or (tableb) tags are always opened before the (tr) & (td) tags; and always closed after the (/td) & (/tr) tags. Please remember that I used the () & (/) 'doors' only to explain how the things work. If not, this part of the guide would look sh*tty. In real, use the [] & [/] tags, okay? You might find some information useful, good luck with your projects! Edited March 27, 2011 by miromiro Dead (Retired)

PatrickW
Or if you're a Firefox user, try the Gtaforums.com extension, which will make creation of tables very simple: *header1|*header2text 1| text2 to create: header1 header2 text 1 text2
