Black Screen during different Missions

Hey,

 

i bought GTA 4 ( The Complete Edition ) a few days ago and installed it quickly. I also downloaded the latest Patch, 1.0.7.0, before i started to play it. I thought i wouldnt have to worry about any graphic problems then. My Computer is pretty old, around 6 years except the graphic card, so i turned the settings on medium.

I started the game and it worked well, except some lags, but i already knew about that before and i didnt lose fun.When i played mission 18 (no love lost) and got to the point where i had to hunt the gang my screen suddenly turned black. I repeated it several times and my screen always turned black at different parts of the mission. I could always see the mini map and the crosshair but the rest disappeared in black. Then i wanted to get out of the game and i didnt have any problem in the menu until i clicked on "exit". My screen turned black again and i couldnt get back to my desktop. Alt + F4 or the task manager didnt help either. I rebooted my computer. Then i started the game again and tried another mission at first. I finished 2 different ones and went back to mission 18 and it suddenly worked. But now i have that problem again also in exiting the game. So, i somehow lose the fun in playing it. I got a GeForce 7900 GTO and i heard, that GTA 4 has some problems with the 79xx series of GeForce but i thought they already solved those problems with the last Patch. If someone has the same Problem and knows a solution, then please help me with it.

 

And here are some information about my computer, also that i think its a problem with the game.

 

 

AMD Athlon 3000 + @ 2,16 GHZ

2GB RAM

GeForce 7900 GTO 512 MB Ram @ GTX

Your PC is on the borderline of system requirements and it's rather hard to troubleshoot in such conditions. Sometimes the crashes on exit can be skipped by adding the game exe to DEP exclusion list.
