marmoo
Hey all Little confused at the moment Been playing GTA IV for well over a year with absolutely no problems From about 8am this morning I have been attempting to launch GTAIV via the icon on my desktop as usual Rockstar Social login screen comes up and I attempt to connect to that as usual After about 5 seconds i get the error of GTA IV.exe has encountered a problem and needs to close (the normal windows error message when a program will not run) At 1st i thought it might be a problem with R* social so attempted to launch program offline mode but it is the same problem I have completed no downloads / driver updates (everything is up to date) - On latest patch for GFWL / GA IV Can it be possible my game has corrupted in some manner? Any ideas? Should I be looking to do a clean reinstall? INTEL CORE 2 DUO E7400 2.8GHZ 4 GIG RAM DDR2 500 GB HD ATI RADEON 4650 HD(1GB) XP SP3 Yep, I know this isn't the best rig to play on but never had any problem up to now - very confused ThankS for any help in advance Edited March 25, 2011 by marmoo
mkey82
Did you install something new yesterday? Provide the full error description. Edited March 25, 2011 by mkey82
iSay
I'm having the same problem. Solution; Run GFWL Marketplace and log in (you can close it after logging in) - GTA IV should now work. Please fix this R*.
marmoo
This is the error on the events viewer Faulting application gtaiv.exe, version 1.0.7.0, faulting module xlive.dll, version 3.4.18.0, fault address 0x00123a8a. You think this is a registry error of some description? Also, in event properties i get this The following boot-start or system-start driver(s) failed to load: sfsync02 Edited March 25, 2011 by marmoo
mkey82
That seems to be a starforce driver http://www.file.net/process/sfsync02.sys.html Do you use xliveless? If not, try removing GWL and install this GFWL update.
