snuskefar Posted March 24, 2011 Share Posted March 24, 2011 Hey there I have just bought and installed GTA IV on my brand new PC which is running Windows 7. Unluckily it does not really run as it should. There are two problems: First one: You have to register a live account to be able to save your game, and every time I do this I have to download some kind of software or something, which the program then does. But after I have downloaded this program GTA IV tells me that I have not signed in and that I should sign in, and then I can start all over. Second one: Since I have not been able to register I tried to access the game not registered just to try it out. To my huge disappointment the game lagged so much that it kind of rendered it unplayable. The specs of my computer are these: Processor: AMD Phenom II X4 955 Processor 3.20 GHz 4,00 GB Kingston RAM nVIDIA GeForce GTX 460 msi 870A-G54 Loads of free disk space Which should be more than enough to run this game, so I reckon it is some kind of conflict between Windows 7 and GTA, am I right about that? I downloaded and tried to install the patch, unluckily I got this error message: (attaced a screenshot of it) The Windows Live installer worked fine! And to be honest the result was not that good, now I cannot start up GTA IV. Every time I try and launch the program it starts thinking and you can hear that the DVD starts spinning, but then after a short while it all just stops and nothing happens. So what to do now?
