A couple of questions, rare vehicle-related...

I've been doing a bit of research lately on certain vehicles and came across a few things which made me curious.

 

1. Police Stockade- I had always thought that the only way to obtain this was to take it from the Tunnel of Death mission, which I managed with no problems. But I was reading GTA Wiki the other day and it said somewhere that the Police Stockade may spawn rarely near the Alderney State Correctional Facility. I have to be honest, I doubt the validity of this, but would love some confirmation either way. Is it one of those which you have to be driving to encounter on the road?

 

2. Roman's Taxi- It is universally accepted that this disappiers after "Roman's Sorrow", which I had been well aware of yet still managed to forget to save one on my current playthrough- DOH! Anyway, I was reading another article which mentioned that a glitch can occur in which Roman's Taxi is used instead of the usual Cavalcade (Algonquin onwards). Anybody know anything about this?

 

3. N.O.O.S.E Patriot- I read in somewhere on this forum that the N.O.O.S.E Patriot from the "Tunnel of Death" mission is a special variant where the sirens can be heard even when the player is not occupying the vehicle. Can anybody confirm this?

 

I have to admit, like I say, I am a little dubious about all three of these, but would like some extra info anyhow.

I've read the file on the police stockade but I highly doubt it is true it sometimes spawns at the prison. the glitch with Romans taxi never happened to me but I won't say it isn't true. And in the tunnel of death I was busy killing noose cops so I didn't even notice the sirens of the noose patriot.

I've heard about the Stockade appearing around the prison too, I even went driving around it for a while seeing if it'll ever show, but it never did.

 

For Roman's Taxi I never witnessed that glitch before, in fact until now I never even knew about that.

 

And I never bothered to check any of the sirens from the N.O.O.S.E. Patriots in the tunnel, like Toni I was too busy focusing on shooting than anything else.

Not true. Roman's Taxi doesn't disappear after Roman's Sorrow.

 

Everyone knows you'll get this car about a 100 times before Roman's Sorrow. In this mission for the last time...BUT:

 

as soon as ALGONQUIN is unlocked, Roman's calls you about the insurance and says he will be able to send you cabs.

So, Mohammed will arrive in Roman's cab.

 

The Cavalcade will replace it after HOSTILE NEGOTIATION, which will be triggered after PHOTO SHOOT.

 

SO:

 

After "BLOW YOUR COVER" and before "PHOTO SHOOT" you got plenty of time to get this vehicle.

Thanks for your post, I honestly never knew that. It makes sense come to think of it, but on my first playthrough a while back I never thought to call Roman for a cab between those missions because I already had the Taxi saved.

today I was searching for 3 hours in a row around the jail for the stockade. I didn't find it. So I think it doesn't spawn there at all.

Soon after the mission, Roman phones Niko stating that his insurance payed for the damage of the fire and a cab depot opened in Bohan. Now, whenever Niko calls Roman for a cab, instead of a Roman's Taxi coming, a Calvacade comes.

Didn't you read above? You can still get Roman's Taxis by calling him for a cab before he gets kidnapped.

Never heard about the sirens on the Patriot. However, in another mission there is a patriot that acts like a "lowrider" and hangs low to the ground, but the lack of suspension property is lost when you save it in a parking space. So this patriot could be like that as well. I don't think you can save special properties apart from special colors and indestructibility. It is still worth investigating though. Perhaps I will look at it in my current playthrough, I just unlocked Alderney, I'll check it out when I get to that mission.

Actually, noose patriots chase you if you have a three star wanted level.

if yes, this is no glitch, it's a fact and also logic.

Yeah I know all about special vehicles and Roman's taxi. I was talking about the unconfirmed Police Stockade and the unconfirmed special NOOSE Patriot.

I finished "Blow Your Cover" last night and I confim that I called Roman straight after and did indeed recieve a "Roman's Taxi". On the subject of the Stockade, I know that whenever I am in it or the Enforcer I see a LOT of Securicars on the road, I know that's because they are pretty much identical vehicles.

 

I included Roman's cab as a rare vehicle because it certainly is rare after a certain point in the game. It's a grey area really. Not unique, or rare in the traditional sense, but it is in a special category as a vehicle which is unobtainable after a certain point. The NOOSE Patriot, again, not rare, but I was talking more about the unconfirmed variant, which certainly WOULD be rare if it did indeed exist.

 

Off Topic, but in "Three Leaf Clover", why were the SWAT guys travelling to the bank in Stockades? I thought it was just inmate transport?
