Along with the allure of the big city came the drug dealers, gang bangers, and general miscreants. Liberty City Police Department began to see a seemingly uncontrollable rise in crime that not even their numbers could combat. After years of combating street crime and butting heads with Liberty County Sheriff's Department, the two agencies merged together in an effort to consolidate their numbers and blur the lines of "jurisdictions". The Liberty City Metropolitan Police Department has slowly began to make headway in combating gang and street crime, improving quality of life and police support. Take your place as a LCMPD Recruit and work your way through the ranks, combating crime and making your mark on the streets of Liberty City. Sub.1: Minimum Selection Standards The LCMPD is looking for skilled, mature, and enthusiastic applicants to protect and serve the citizens of Liberty City. In order to be considered for appointment to a special operations division, the applicant shall be a rank of at least PO-II, highly skilled in the area of application, and successfully complete a qualification evaluation. The following special operations divisions are offered: 01. Air Unit Officers assigned to the air unit assist LCMPD Patrol Officers by providing aerial support during pursuits, both vehicle and foot, and for other tasks as assigned. Pilots in this division are assigned a special unit designation. Radio Designation: 4100 02. Special Response Team (SWAT) Officers assigned to SRT, known as "Operators", are trained to handle critical incidents; deploying special weapons and vehicles. Operators in this division are assigned a special unit designation and serve as Patrol Officers in their beats when not on critical-incident callouts. SRT Operators are also tasked with fugitive apprehension and warrant service. Radio Designation: 700 03. Traffic Traffic Officers serve LCMPD as traffic-enforcement specialists and crash reconstruction experts. Traffic Officers respond to any accident where narcotics or alcohol is a suspected factor, bodily injury of any amount occurred, or damage to vehicle exceeds a State required minimum of $1,000.00. Traffic Officers are assigned a special unit designation and can opt to respond to calls for service or remain on traffic enforcement during their patrol shift. Radio Designation: 300 04. Investigations Investigators are tasked with investigating critical incidents or felony level crimes, combating gang-crime, and acting as an inter-department "Internal Affairs". Investigators are permitted to use certain undercover vehicles or marked patrol vehicles. Investigators will serve as patrol officers when not on a call-out. They can also be trained as hostage negotiators if they so choose. * * * Non-Sworn Divisions * * * 04. Civilian Civilians act as normal day-to-day people inside Liberty City. They may call 911 for assistance, or they may end up being crooks. 05. Dispatch Dispatchers receive 911 communications and coordinate and assign officers to calls for service. If no applicants are hired for dispatch, the position in a patrol shift will be filled by the most senior officer in the shift. 06. Auxiliary Patrol Officer Auxiliary Patrol Officers assist sworn Patrol Officers while on patrol. Auxiliary Patrol Officers must either ride-along with a Patrol Officer during a shift or pair up with another Auxiliary Patrol Officer during a patrol shift. Auxiliary Officers must request permission from the host/dispatcher to perform a ride-along patrol shift prior to the game, or their intent to enter the patrol as a "2100 Unit" (2-man Auxiliary squad). Auxiliary Officers are not permitted to partake in pursuits and may only assist in foot pursuits at the request of a Patrol Officer or dispatch. Auxiliary Patrol Officers are only permitted to carry the standard issue sidearm and will not be allowed the use of shotgun or carbine. Sub.5: Patrol Patrols will be conducted primarily in the Team Deathmatch mode; civilians/crooks will assume one side and patrol officers will assume the other. Civilians will be trained to conduct crime from misdemeanors to felonies. Patrols will be held, initially, on any night when a member, rank of SPO or higher, is willing to host a patrol shift and has enough players that he or she feels the shift will be worthwhile. After adding enough members, patrols will be held any night of the week where enough Patrol Officers RSVP for the patrol. Sub.6: Rank 01. Recruit 02. Patrol Officer - I 03. Patrol Officer - II 04.
