Slingaa Posted March 22, 2011 Share Posted March 22, 2011 Hey guys, at school we've started to choose our subjects that we will be taking for our GCSEs. I have chosen to take History and Business Studies (as I enjoy them) and Religious Education (as I'm pretty good at it and my teacher says I'll definitely get over C grade if I keep trying as I am.) I'm also going to swap French for Media Studies as I really want to have a job in film production when I'm older. I'd then like to take Film Studies at A level. What I'm asking is did anyone take Media Studies at GCSE and Film Studies at A level? I've got to ask people about it for schoolwork and I don't know anybody that took those subjects. So, if you took Media Studies and/or Film Studies please help me out by telling me if they're an enjoyable subject and worth taking. Cheers. Tommy-Vercetti19 Posted March 22, 2011 Share Posted March 22, 2011 I picked film studies over here, unfortunately we only do it for a year, but today the film we made last year made it to the finals of the Fresh film competition on Wednesday in Limerick. SIKKS66 Posted March 23, 2011 Share Posted March 23, 2011 Media Studies is probably fun, yeah, but I have doubts over what job prospects that subject could bring. As it's only GCSE, I wouldn't let it bother you too much at this level. If you plan to take on a subject at a higher level (A Level, degree etc) make sure you choose that though.
