Graphics problem on recent download of eflc

Just downloaded Episodes from Liberty City yesterday from amazon for pc, got it installed and noticed the gameplay was a little choppy. The graphics settings were set relatively high, so when I lowered them to medium settings, the game started giving me a negative-type display where the lighter shades are dark and vice versa. Messing around with the graphics settings I eventually got it to work ok, but it did eventually go back to the dark/negative-type display, and now I can't get it back to normal.

 

Hopefully someone has come across this before and can help me out.

 

I did download the patch from rockstargames.com
