Rockstar is working on a game for the NGP

If you mean memory as ram, it should have plenty, it would be stupid if it didn't run games properly.

 

If you mean memory as in Harddrive space, it may not even have a harddrive, everything runs off the catridge.

 

How can you assume memory is going to be a problem before we know exactly what is in the PSP2 or how powerful it is?

 

Internally, the device features a 4 core ARM Cortex-A9 core processor (only 3 of the cores will be available for applications) and a SGX543MP4+ graphics processing unit.

 

NVG card is the flash memory type that will be used in the Next Generation Portable. The game cards will be available in 2 GB and 4 GB sizes. 5 — 10% of the writeable space will be reserved for save data, patches, etc. Game cards with higher capacity are to be offered in the future.

 

This info has been known for awhile. We don't know the system's VRAM or main RAM yet.

But I really don't think that Rockstar, if they are working on a GTA title for the NGP, if not something else, will start out with a map the size of a state. It would call for a much longer development cycle.

You've got a point. I still think of all the places for Rockstar to revisit SA is the most likely simply because it would generate the most excitement. If they don't have enough time to work on a whole state, it's likely we'll see some form of SA revisited for an NGP game though. You know, maybe just one of the cities completely redone. Los Santos perhaps.

Sorry if this has already been posted, but according to the latest issue of Official PlayStation Magazine, it's been confirmed that Rockstar is one of the development studios working on a title for the NGP (a.k.a. the PSP2), Sony's next-gen handheld. I'm not sure if this means that we'll see a new GTA title, but if it does end up that way, then I'm pretty sure it won't be a San Andreas Stories as Rockstar is done with the GTA III era.

This news is terribly old, good job for taking months to get this one. But anyways if this is GTA for NGP then

If they are then I disagree with you, it's very likely to be SAS, also when did they say they were done with the III era?

I agree. The grafitti on the wall's in IV doesn't nessecarily mean it's over.

From 250 and up. No one knows yet but expect it to be expensive.

It might be a GTA title but it could be anything really.

 

Now about a SAS, yeah I don't see it happening, now I’m not completely closed of to the idea that one could be done, but there are the issues with factions never leavening there respective cities (among other issues all ready stated) , so they could do three separate games, one in LV/Bone County, that Focus's on the Mafia families in LV, one in SF/Whetstone Focusing on the Triads or something there, and then one in LS/Red county Focusing on the Ballas and Grove street, and so on and so forth.

 

Now while I doubt it will happen, it is plausible, but the odds are astronomical, and I just don‘t see it happening, there would be no real point to revisiting the III era in my eyes, that‘s just my opinion though.

Of course it won't... because they have their own portable studio.

 

 

R* Leeds have done every portable R* title since GTA Advance in 2004 on GBA before officially becoming R* Leeds in 2005. They created both Stories games, Midnight Club (PSP), the Warriors (PSP), Manhunt (PSP) and GTA: CTW (DS).

 

As for what this project is going to be. In my view it's either going to be a new GTA IV episode/prequel whatever you wanna call it, something new using assets from GTA IV, The GTA III trilogy on handheld, or a gta4-ized version of San Andreas that uses assets from GTA IV and GTA: SA which would be quite interesting.
