YankeesPwnMets
Let's say you have a graphics card that can max out GTAIV but it only has 1GB of DDR3 memory. If you have DDR3 RAM, then if you use this commandline to increase realizes then will there be any big performance impact from using DDR3 video memory to DDR3 ram as video memory? mkey82
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Comparison_of...rocessing_units For GTX560 memory bandwidth is 128.27GB/s http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/DDR3_SDRAM For 800MHz DDR3 bandwidth is 12.8GB/s One may argue that the GPU will not manage to utilize all that bandwidth so the difference is less staggering. In actual cases, from what people posted here, availablevidmem has a limited effect, it can perform well in some cases (note the inherent subjectivity of term "well", some will swear this game runs great on their ancient hardware) but I do not suggest using anything past 1.5, that is 50% virtual increase. As always, it's best to test it out and see what can be achieved. In my case, I used 1.35 to bump up my 512MB VRAM with some noticeable spikes in performance, but nothing that major.
