- Anytime a cop sees you holding a weapon in public he'll try to arrest you.

 

- Cops won't see you holding a weapon inside a vehicle.

 

- Needs HazardX's .net scripthook version 0.891 or later. -> http://www.gtaforums.com/index.php?showtopic=392325

 

- ASI loader, xLiveLess or HazardX's YASIL. -> http://www.gtaforums.com/index.php?showtopic=388658 (xLiveLess)

 

- TESTED ONLY WITH GTA IV 1.0.1.0! .

 

INSTALLATION:

 

Place the files WeaponArrest.net.dll and WeaponArrest.ini into the scripts folder within the game directory.

 

INI FILE:

 

Change the values inside WeaponArrest.ini to control the mod behavior.

 

AllowBat=1 -> 1 means the cops won't chase you if you're holding a bat, 0 means they will.

AllowKnife=1 -> 1 means the cops won't chase you if you're holding a knife, 0 means they will.

I've uploaded this mod yesterday and it's still pending approval, while others that were uploaded today are already available in GTAGarage.com...

 

Does anybody know why?

Meaning it won't work on 1.7 patch, nor 1.4, making the mod really useless even if whole idea sounds cool...

Tested in EFLC v. 1.0.2 with xlive.dll and it works fine! When I ve tested with GTA IV v.1.0.3. with Asi loader the game froze at the begining when the mods where loading. So any one else has tested with an asi loader in higher patch versions of GTA IV? Maybe the problem is when you are using an asi loader insted of xlive. The problem is that if you play both GTA IV and EFLC you have to use both the xlive and the asi loader, each one with a different game so that the saves are stored at different files and don't mess up.

So people check it out and report back. As for the mod it is a nice idea and when is working it adds realism to the cops reactions!

Bug corrected. Old users should update to the newer version (1.1).

It's already up.

 

Any file submitted needs approval from GTAGarage.com to appear online. That's why it take some time for the link to show (1-2 days normally).

 

But as I said, it's already up. wink.gif

Good idea! It would be nice if it is possible.

Also it would be nice if an activate/deactivate key option was in the ini file since having all the time the mod on creates problems with other mods like LCPD First Responce -or Ambient wars- where although you are a cop you are keep getting a wanted level activated (by your mod) /deactivated (by LCPDFR or Ambient Wars mod) constantly. Also there are times that you want to run around with your gun (like in the Ambient wars mod) without having all the time a wanted level (or have a constant on/off).

This! biggrin.gif I thought about asking for that because this mod conflicts with one of my favorite mods (Terrorist Hunt mode in HippieCommunist's Contact Missions mod), but I thought I was probably the only one who wanted it.

This is cool stuff, but have two annoying bugs; when You just scroll weapons in hud but don't carrying it in hands the cops chase you, the same when you behind the doors, like in your home or buying weapons in store the cops see you and you get 1 star wanted level.

I was buying guns today, I chose to buy Micro Uzi and cops noticed me having weapon even if they were outside the shop - at first I didn't mind the bug cause it just made me look out for cops before I bought the gun (which was fun) but later when I got wanted level the gun shop owner shot me to death with Desert Eagle.

OtherGunsCanBeReported=0 --> 1 means that if you carry other guns than Mass Weapons, you can be reported to police too. 0 means you won't. Use carefully, can be annoying (turned off by default).

 

OtherGunsReportChance=10 ---> in percent. Can go from 1 to 100. This is the chance a given citizen is likely to call the police to report that he saw you carrying a weapon that is not a mass weapon, if 'OtherGunsCanBeReported' is set to 1.

Nice addition but I ve noticed that when you are pulling out your cell phone or picking up an object e.g. a cup coffee (I am using Hippecommunist's modpack) you get reported by peds as if you were carying a weapon. Also the peds run away when you are pulling out the cell phone. So please take care of this in the next version. Thanks

Same bug as the original version (1.0)... The thing is GTA IV considers a cell phone (and other objects) as weapons from inside their code, I have no idea why...

Good work to fix the bug with the cell phone and the rest of the stuff. Also the add on with prostitutes, bums and

gang members is very good thinking.

But it still has the bug of the initial release; People report you even when you are scrolling your weapons menu and you don't have any weapon in your hands. Furthermore although I've set the report by people percentage to 10 I keep get reported almost every time I hold a weapon.

So please check those things.

Expecting the improved version pal!
