No inspiration, lately

Recommended Posts

Lately, i have become better at making mission, but i now have no inspiration, or when i do have, i make the half of a mission and don't finish it, i don't know why, it get's boring, I mostly have this when I am making Cutscene's, i like making action things, but i have no inspiration.

and i don't finish my mission, because I think it is not good or something?

do you guys have ever something like this, if so, tell it here.

or maybe give me some advice how to making cutscene's more interesting.

(btw, i see that i accidently have posted this topic in the wrong section, it shoud have been posted in the dyom support!)

OHH yea I have that feeling sometimes.

ITs probably why I hardly release any missions very quickly. Try to think about where do you want to go from where you are at the moment.

IDK how to make the cutscenes more enjoyable, but maybe use less than you normally would. I use Timeout objective with time off as a substitute sometimes.

A lot of people I've talked to, even LCJ and even myself always like to think of the ending missions because those ususally have the most action.

Also think of a good excuse to add action and gun fighting in a lot of your missions.

Anyway good luck, and hope you get some inspiration back

We're on the same boat. I finished my first chapter of Gangsta's Paradise mission pack and I got so lazy to create more missions. Sometimes I watch GTA III/VC/SA/IV missions and I get a little inspiration, but after a week or two, I get bored.

Jimmy_Leppard

That happened to me on my latest mission series ''The Forgotten''. The problem is that I didn't write the whole summary and now I'm stuck in ''the middle of nowhere'' with a great story. I guess it's like making music. I'm also a musician and there I have the same problem. There are days or even weeks where I have tons of inspiration and ideas to create a song, but then, after a few days or so, that inspiration disappears...but the great thing about this is that it (inspiration) comes back...and when it comes back, it's even bigger than the last time before it disappeared. So, don't worry. Lack of inspiration can last for days or weeks but when it comes back, it will be a burst of ideas, believe me biggrin.gif

I just hope that my inspiration will get back until my birthday, which is 3 days from now, LOL biggrin.gif

Well, first of all thank you for responing so fast!!! (you guys are really fast, like a ninja tounge.gif )

second: the music tip from JOJOXX, really helped and also thinking of the fun parts of your mission while making the cutscenes makes it also better (like Doublepulse said)

and Chimpsie, you are so right, sometimes i post a mission and i am really proud of it, but others won't even play it!!!! that is really irritating.

Jimmy_Leppard: you are right, sometimes i have a great idea, but when i do, i am sleeping or at school, and i forget it! I never come up with a Idea while i am playing DYOM

mati1501: I think i will PM you when i am going to start on a storyline, but so far, i am just to lazy and i think i will quit fast if i make a storyline,...

That is also one of my problems, i am just to lazy to make a storyline!

Doublepulse: about the time-outs, I will use them more often in missions, it is easier for me to make that than a cutscene.

Do you guys have this too? (about the lazyness)

Yep Definitely If I stayed on task with it, I would be done with all 3 of them. Its funny, because it is hard to differentiate between laziness and do not have time for it. Im a college student who has to worry bout studies as well lol.

No insult to anyone, but sometimes when I see like 7-10 missions done by 1 person in a week, I think that DYOM is all they do on their free time lol

Yea, and I think another reason why i have not been inspired, because lot of people use same ideas from simple elements of Mafia or gang war fare, or even police. Excluding a few, a lot of the strange great ideas just do not fit in with San Andreas theme.

Im glad to see some people are doing things to make it more interesting though, like having multiple people work on one series.
