However, the points made are very relevant. Creating a city first and working on characters. Well if they're casting and MoCapping surely that means the city is ready? No?

Hmm, I remember there being a small discussion somewhere here of the idea of having multiple cities in one game (a la Vice City, Los Santos, etc.). Is there anything to rule that out besides hardware limitations?

These games are things that we put a lot of time and effort into but that technology has now made obsolete. Of course, you think is this completely disposable? Maybe the games are close to getting good enough where they will be playable in a few years’ time.

This is exactly why I believe one day R* will re-do Vice City. You see he's talking about the technology those games were made on. Even if they made Vice City how they wanted back then, it's still back then. Get my drift?

Thank you, Thank you, Thank you, Thank you, Thank you, Thank you so very very much for finding something that might actually be related to GTA V or perhaps AGENT looms closer to the future then we first thought.

HAHA XD

Please post something more substantial then "HAHA XD" or don't bother posting at all.

Damn, who pissed in your cereal this morning?

...and a GTA in the mountains sounds incredibly boring.

First, yes I snipped you. But seriously.

You do realize that the most modern type of ground warfare, and the newest amount of tactics being developed for it, is mountain warfare? (again).

How could a little or a lot of that, not be cool?

A little would be fine. Mt. Chillad in SA was awesome! But an entirely mountainous, countryside GTA would be...well, not GTA. No cars to jack in the middle of nowhere, no city to explore and no organized crime unless you count moonshiners. Leave the countryside to FarCry 3

It would not be proftitable to make such a large game, too much money/time would be put into development compared to units sold.

They could make 3 separate cities/games and sell 20million copies each, or make 1 game and sell maybe 30million.

Sorry, but with your characterizations of "no cars to jack in the middle of nowhere" and "no organized crime but moonshiners" you just come across as someone who hasn't even been near a mountain range, let alone spent some time in one.

Exactly. GTA belongs in a dominantly urban area. San Andreas was perfect but it had several cities and town.

Also, since when are modern war tactics factors in the location of GTA?

Yes, we need a state-type Grand Theft Auto with plenty of Urban Cities but a lot of rural areas for other stuff.

Hell Yeah. Bring it on. I was dreaming about this after GTA IV was released. A GTA with multiple country's. Vice City & San Andreas in a next-gen coat emerged in one whole pot of total chaos.

I never suggested that the game be ENTIRELY in the mountains, but I also thought that it wouldn't have to be spelled out to anyone.

"Also, since when are modern war tactics factors in the location of GTA?"-Untame Snail

I'd go into more detail on your second bit of trifulling but, I get the impression you aren't a very creative thinker and so, would be wasting my time.

Suffice to say, some mountain elevation would add new elements to combat and the wanted system that would be entirely different from being on top of a building or skyscraper.

So Rockstar North are looking for a Programmer. This must mean they are pretty far in the Development process, no? So I was just wondering if anybody knows when they started looking for a Programmer for GTA IV? If anybody does, that could give us a vague idea of when the game will be released? or Marketing starts?

I have come to the conclusion that you are either a stuck-up asshole or just not very smart.

As I have said before, San Andreas was perfect. It had a mountain. You're not arguing anything...

Thats a good question, how do we find that out?

With the marketing, I'm hoping they are playing their cards closer than they did with 4, so I don't know if that will indicate as much.

I found this... It was posted in 2006 And GTA IV WAS scheduled for a late 2007 release.

It was also posted at pretty much the same time as it is now 5 years ago.

Doesn't mean anything like... Just digging.

Edit: And Also GTA IV was still Unannounced at the time.

Hold it.

I gave the thread a few reasons why I think mountainous terrain would ADD to the gameplay and you come pissing in with what amounts to "Bah, who wants that?" and that I'm a not so bright asshole.

Awesome.

Don't bother polluting the thread anymore with this nonsense. I had my say and so did you apparently.

On top of the matter, you are off topic. Have something to say? Theres a topic for that.

Look up thread. I was responsding to someone else's off topicness and it was a brief tangent at most.

Unless I'm mistaken you are not a mod, and I handled it without the peanut gallery getting involved. End Pollution.
