Hang on a second, he said give me a FEW more weeks, as far as i'm aware a few is usually 3, if so then he will tell us in 3 weeks. What day is it in roughly 3 weeks? APRIL 1ST! This though just occured to me...

He said it's not an April fools joke (more or less) so thats comforting, but he not waiting for an official 'whatever' by Rockstar...

didn't he signed an agreement with rockstar until a set date to release info. From what i understand the next gta was shown at gdc behind close doors.....basically jim reilly is one lucky s.o.b.....i'm speculating an october '11 release since it's using the same engine as tbogt which was more ploish and finsh than gta IV.

thats my language right there because take two will make most profits during 1st quarter because no one really buys that many games during 2nd quarter and oct to november is shooter months and they will steer clear from those months

I would love to see a release in 2011, but I don't see it happening now, as there hasn't been a single peep out of R* for marketing purposes. They know they have the fan base, but I'm sure they want to market it for at least a year just to get the hype up. Anyway, we'll see what happens after March 31st, when TakeTwos fiscal year ends. They could give us some info then, even a logo, to look forward to.

theyre not gonna go against call of duty or other shooters now because they would lose profits, plus we're in a recession the basic fan boy will go and buy the next shooter over a sandbox game, yeah it will sell if released in october but it wont make the max profits

To be fair, the annual Call of Duty releases late november, so GTA would mostly compete with it in sales of christmas gifts for spoiled kids with ignorant parents. tounge.gif

the market is saturated with shooters what more can they offer??we seen it all already and BF3 is fit for pc.... I think everyone and their moms is ready for a new GTA no matter when it's released.

Everyone i know (Including myself) will buy both, i know not everyone can afford both but those types of games are ussually must have & the fans will eventually get both, even if it is a week or 2 later that they do. Just the fact thats it's GTA is enough to make people buy it, i think it would be pretty even with the shooter games, eitherway, they'll both make alot of money...

That reminds me, Saints Row 3 is scheduled for Fall/Winter 2011, and without starting an argument about which game is better (we all know which one) SR has a big following and is always compared to GTA, its currently being quite hyped up by a lot of gaming sites since it had a spread in Game Informer. What I'm trying to say is, would R* go up and against it? We know their history and that they would outsell, but would they consider sharing the spotlight, even if there's no contest?

What I actually should have said was, would Saints Row 3 developers commit suicide by releasing at the same time as GTA? I wouldn't think so. Would another developer have insider knowledge about release dates or estimates?

like i said earlier saints row 3 is using a different engine they had plenty of time and years to study rockstar who knows what they are cooking up but I'm GTA for life but I aint gonna lie i own both saints row for comedic values since its a pretty fun game and I like that you can customize anything

Yeh SR is a very unrealistic game much like APB if you have ever played that. GTA is the one for realism San Andreas onwards. Vice City was kind of arcade but it was one hell of a fun game to play.

so what they said saints row 3 is more serious nature game now, your saying that cant change things up on people? For all we know GTA V could be a saints row type game or what saints row could've been if developed properly

I dont know the trailers for saints row 2 were garbage the physics everthing, but they said they're suppose to be revealing the engine they're using for saint row 3 soon. If the graphics and physics add up with everything else I can see competition, but without out GTA still has that left hook knock out punch
